Would you be happy with 12-1 in 2008 with a Title Game loss?

No way do I want to see us lose a third NC game in a row. I'd rather go 12-1 with a win against Michigan and a win in a BCS bowl game.

Me too. Another MNC loss would be crushing. It's very odd/uncomfortable to feel like we have to win the MNC or this is a lost season. The expectations now are unreasonable (on my own behalf...that's what's weird is that I KNOW my own expectations are unreasonable and yet I can't get rid of them).

So, I'm of the belief that a 1 loss, BCS bowl birth with wins over USC and TSUN would be preferable to a MNC loss.

By the way, great thread you've created...I think it really highlights how through-the-roof the expectations have become. I'm a bit ashamed of the way I look at this season after thinking about your post.

If my kid was playing on the team...bowl win. If it was actually me as a player....tough one since the response requires me to admit I didn't win the championship. I think if I was told I was going to lose the MNC, I'd take the BCS bowl win though.

I'd take the shot because I'd had to believe I would/could win. Otherwise what's the point of competing.

I'm pretty sure all Buckeye fans here would take the shot in the NC game. But that isn't the question in this poll, the question assumes a title game loss.

I can't watch this team lose another title game. It will really hurt me.

The nice thing about this year is that we'll know alot by the 3rd week... if we go to SoCal and beat them we should be 12-0 heading into the bowl season...and I imagine that will be enough for us to play for the BCS title again.

Yep, getting the bid last year could actually cost us one this year, in that I don't think there's any way the voters put a 11-1 OSU team in the NC game this year. I can hear the outcry already.

Exactly.

An "NC or bust" mentality is a sure-fire way to feel badly about a great season. 13-0 just doesn't happen every year, no matter the talent.

Quite frankly, i'd rather we didn't go to the NC game this year. We need a break from that. 12-1 with another beat-down of the weasels and a BCS bowl win would be fine by me.


Now, having said that, if we do go to the NC game, I'm not going to complain....

In that case the choice for me is clear. I'll take a win over a loss any day.
