Game Thread Wisconsin at tOSU, Sep 28th, 8 ET, ABC/ESPN/ESPN2

Last year I was certain Ohio State was going to score 30+ on Wisconsin. they ended up scoring 21 in OT.

This year, I'm certain this game won't be any more than a TD difference, simply because I don't trust what I've seen so far from the offense.

Ohio State 24 - Wisconsin 20.

These games are always close - closer than they should be on paper, and I don't think this year will be any different.

Since they started playing every year again in 2007:

OSU is 5-1 straight up
OSU is 5-1 against the spread including covering lines of -14.5 and -16
avg score 26.8 to 20.2

Have faith my man, the OSU offense is light years better than it was last year and this is not a vintage Wisconsin team.

Why does college football have to turn into a fashion show?
It's all about the Benjamins.

College football teams wear "uniforms" less and less as "costumes" - that change every week and may (or may not) be in your school colors - become the norm.

I'm right there with you. Regardless of the stats, the offense never seems to excel against Bucky.
Nothing ever changes..... Until it changes in a big way. Bucks take care of business on the wave of Urbs impassioned "play with a chip on your shoulder like something has been taken away from you" speech. We return to dominance nationally by first dominating our own conference and Wisky holds the current title. Their current title literally came at our expense. Urb will fan those flames big time. I see a pissed off team playing in front of a national audience at night at home, itching to show everyone they are truly back. Going out on a limb a bit but I'm going with 52-24 good guys. The game really isn't that close though. I'm also calling a pick 6.

The key to a big win like you are calling for? Bucks need to continue the streak of scoring and jumping to a big lead in the first quarter. Force Wiscy to pass which is not their strong suite and take them out of the comfort zone of running the ball. Make them play at our tempo. Control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

As much as the transitive property doesn't actually matter on the field, I think it's heavily used by voters. Since Wisky played close and lost the ASU, who went out a week later and got rolled by Stanford 42-28 (38-7 going into 4th qtr), OSU has to put up at least a comparable score against Wisky or else they risk getting jumped in the polls again.

Not to mention the Buckeyes are at home, which pollsters believe makes teams invincible.

I don't know what to expect, honestly. I think the Buckeyes score between 35-52 points, depending on the effectiveness of the Wisky ground game. If Wisky is able to go on long drives and eat clock, it could keep the score relatively low. I just don't see Wisky scoring enough points, even if the Silver Bullets struggle tackling.

I think we'll see a lot of defensive sets where the Buckeyes give up 3-7 yard passes/runs, but nothing longer. Contain the big play, don't over pursue, win comfortably.

I'm guessing...42-21, good guys.

I don't take this to mean anything more than a reward for Kenny and some extra motivation for Braxton. UFM putting his psyche degree to work.

There is no way Braxton doesn't start this game.

I was a little disappointed to see that Corey Smith has been taken out of the depth chart. Was hoping he would make an immediate impact this season.
