What concerns me the most is that we usually do two claps and the ball is snapped 1/2 a second after the 2nd clap. How defenders haven't jumped the snap yet is beyond me though. It seems regular enough that I would at least try it.

I think they were saying the Clap tells the center to start the snap count, so its up to Linsley

Urban Meyer plays it close-to-the-vest

After pushing the lead to 31-14 with 2:18 left in the third quarter, Ohio State didn't score any more points — style or otherwise.

On the series after Wisconsin made it 31-21, Meyer opted to punt rather than try a 52-yard field goal (within Drew Basil's range) that would have made it a two-touchdown game.

That was a little out of character for Meyer whose foot is usually Krazy-glued to the gas pedal.

On OSU's next series, score still 31-21 with 6:42 left, the Buckeyes faced third-and-eight from their own 38. Meyer ran Carlos Hyde, for seven yards, and Ohio State was forced to punt.

That triggered an 11-play drive resulting in a Badger field goal. The Buckeyes were in a full-scale prevent (defeat) at that point, defensively and offensively. Starting the ensuing series at its own 34, needing only about 40 yards to set up a victory-clinching field goal by Basil, the Big Ten's No.1 offense instead went conservative again, with three running plays netting four yards.

The idea was to put the game on the foot of Cameron Johnston, the freshman punter from Australia. He came through, booming a 55-yard punt to pin the Badgers inside their 10 for the fifth time in the game. With no timeouts and only 1:29 left, Wisconsin didn't have a prayer.

That last 15 minutes was Tresselball at its ... um, finest.

Meyer, to his credit, came close to apologizing.

"You know, hindsight, maybe (we) take a couple more shots," Meyer said, "but ..."

But? No buts, no buts. Please.

"...I'm not sure that would be the right thing to do either."

Ugghhh.
