Game Thread Wisconsin at tOSU, Sep 28th, 8 ET, ABC/ESPN/ESPN2

Last year Bert had his safeties (usuallly both of them) in the box by the time the ball was snapped - and that allowed them to contain Brax. For whatever reason, Herman never threw the ball over the top down the middle of the field. If they do that nonsense again, we should burn them.

Some Ohio State fans are bemoaning the fact that KG will be on the sidelines for this one (as far as we know), and some Wisky fans are actually happy that they will be facing Brax instead of the great KG. I think we should file this one under "be careful what you wish for". Brax is the best runner from the QB position in CFB when he is fully healthy. If you want to roll the dice again and bring those safeties up, you should get burned deep. If Brax can't hit it, that will put Urban and Herman in an interesting position where they might need to bring Kenny in to get them out of that - but that would potentially create a fan/media QB controversy that we don't need. Best scenario is that Brax burns them if they try it, and we continue to have the best backup QB in the history of backup QB's.

Our passing game this year is light years ahead of where it was last year. The Offense has had 16 games now in this new system and everyone is on the same page. Braxton is almost 100% and so the entire starting Offense is healthy and ready to go. We've added speed and additional plays and talent with Wilson and Hall. What Wisky will see this year will be significantly different than what they saw last year. Hall, Hyde and Wilson will be our primary runners. Our tempo is much faster this year than a year ago. Braxton has improved as a passer and Smith, Philly and Spencer have all improved as receivers. And finally, our entire coaching staff returns for its 2nd year. I like our chances. :-)

Totally agree.

I NEED the Bucks to play really well. I will be watching from 16C. I will be getting home at 2:30 AM. I don't want to be coming home in a bad mood. 8D

I can't agree with that at all. Miller is our guy and needs to start and play. Pick a guy and stick with him until something happens that would require the backup to come in. Kenny did a fantastic amazing job filling in for Miller. But he's just that, a fill in for Miller. Miller is back, Miller plays.
Ohio State is in great position to have two exciting quarterbacks, and you know that Urban and his staff will have a great game plan for both of them. I never expected KG to have such a good throwing arm as he does and Braxton had a a lot of time to watch his "Back-up" give him some pointers on how to hit his receivers in stride.

Braxton is a Badger killer. That being said, if winning this game comes down to him having to do some of that play maker stuff (which is why people believe he is the unquestioned starter) then I think there is a need to revisit things. There are just too many guys on offense right now that can make plays if the QB makes the right read, throw, give, pitch. Kenny has shown from pretty much his first snap of the season that he can make the correct one. I know Braxton is a superb athlete that has always been able to count on his athleticism but he really needs to show that he trusts the guys around him. He'll become far more dangerous if he gets the ball to the right guys at the right time.

idk about the whole Braxton-Kenny thing.
on one hand, Braxton is far more dangerous on his feet.
on the other hand, Kenny almost never makes a wrong read.
on one hand Braxton can be indecisive, and takes unnecessary losses.
on the other hand, Kenny seems to know where he needs to go before the ball is even snapped.

does the big play potential - with it's correlating big loss potential - of Braxton REALLY outweigh the well tuned machine of a Kenny-run offense?

it's a conundrum for sure. how can you bench Miller when he does everything right?
conversely, how can you possibly bench Kenny, when he's running the O better than anyone since Troy in '06?

to me it's almost like, LAST YEAR Braxton was the guy. we didn't have a whole lot of options, and we needed someone that could make the lion's share of the plays.
but THIS YEAR, we are loaded with options, and are much better suited with someone who can distribute the ball to all those options.

if you had to pin me down, i'd stick with Kenny and mix Braxton in as a change of pace.

I think this will be out toughest game, that the team and coaches are over-confident, and that it will be ugly. Put me down for winning by 1 point.

Maybe, but I don't see it. Firstly, Urban called them the "King" of the B1G in his press conference today referencing how they've gone to the Rose Bowl the past few years. Secondly, I could see them pissed off that they got the "B1G Champions" title when it was really theirs last year. Thirdly, I remember last year Urban saying that he was surprised to hear how much his team hated Wisconsin. At least from our team's standpoint, After Michigan Wisconsin is probably the team they hate the most. I don't see them coming out flat for this game.
