[/i]The adjoining neighborhoods... Exposition Park to the S., Adams-Normandie to the W. & Historic South-Central to the E. have among the highest violent crime rates in the city. University Park itself is actually a bit lower...but still worse than average.
I lived in the area for a brief time in the mid 90's (I was not a student). The area to the west is not that nice, it was called "mid city" then. South Central, at least the area everyone in LA thinks of as South Central is further south of USC. The area around USC is not that bad, and quite frankly, there are neighborhoods in Columbus that are far worse than anything I ever saw in LA.
But all this is irrelevant. USC sucks, and so does Wisconsin.
