Umm that is the actual definition of South Central LA. Washington is the northern boundary. They just call it South LA these days...you know, for marketing.

[/i]The adjoining neighborhoods... Exposition Park to the S., Adams-Normandie to the W. & Historic South-Central to the E. have among the highest violent crime rates in the city. University Park itself is actually a bit lower...but still worse than average.

I lived in the area for a brief time in the mid 90's (I was not a student). The area to the west is not that nice, it was called "mid city" then. South Central, at least the area everyone in LA thinks of as South Central is further south of USC. The area around USC is not that bad, and quite frankly, there are neighborhoods in Columbus that are far worse than anything I ever saw in LA.

But all this is irrelevant. USC sucks, and so does Wisconsin.

Oh, and Muck, you kind of made/restated my point for me.

To an extent...I just don't buy the claim that there is reams of marketing data showing that shitty looking trendy uniforms is a major boon for recruiting.

Sure Oregon likes to say it's so but if Mike Belloti hadn't been around to get the team to produce on the field then all the faux diamond plate in the world wouldn't have done squat for their recruiting.

If the kids actually like the Oregon and Maryland crap, then I fear for our future.

I heard the MD uniforms described as looking like "crime scene tape wrapped around a barber pole"

We just scored tickets. Just to ease everyone's mind, The Buckeyes are 6-0 when I go to games, so there's that. That includes the Wisky game from two years ago we had no business winning and the Iowa game the same year.

For the record, LB's will have to step up in this game and if Bollman and Braxton can put together a performance similar to the first half at Nebraska we have a definite chance.

Go Bucks!

But tell us how you really feel.

There are few things that I loathe in my life, but Wisconsin football is one of those few things. Ever since I was at the Shoe in 2003 sitting alongside two obnoxious Wisconsin fans, who completely tipped the scales of complete classlessness (beyond anything I have ever witnessed), I have hated the Badgers beyond belief. I have sat beside Michigan fans in the #1 vs #2 game, in Michigan stadium in 2003 (Tressel's only loss), Texas fans in the days of Vince Young, NC State fans at the epic 2003 game, and up in the Upper deck of the Schott amongst hundreds of arrogant Illinois fans the year Sylvester stunned them....and many others I probably am forgetting. All of these fans pale in comparison to the Wisconsin fans that I sat beside that day in 2003. From then on I have greatly loathed the Wisconsin fanbase and team. Nothing that I have heard about them recently has changed that opinion....

That's how I feel.

No offense, but I was at the Wisconsin game in 2003, and I am pretty sure it was in Madison. But the way I was treated in Madison that night definitely makes me hate the Badgers.

Go Bucks!

Until this passed August, I lived a mile from USC's campus. Call it whatever cardinal direction of LA you want, it is, in fact, a shithole.

And by "tipped the scales", you mean literally, right?
