Dammit I hate Wisconsin.
I was asked if that was the greatest game I've ever been to. 2006 Michigan game was better, just because it was Michigan. 2009 Iowa was close, but this game was better. LSU in 1988, but that was just LSU - not a big rival with Ohio State. What better home games have there been since 1986?

This doesn't fit your timeframe, but the most exciting game I've attended at the Shoe was vs. Illinois in '84. The Bucks fell behind 24-0 before roaring back to win 45-38 behind Keith Byars's 274 rushing yard and 5 TDs. He famously lost a shoe on a long TD run. Never been so hoarse from yelling.

Incidently, a major complaint about Earle was that he didn't care much about defense- sort of the polar opposite of the complaint against JT.

I think I may have been the first to call out that this wasn't a "Hail Mary".

Remember, had Andrew Luck thrown that ball, it would have been a "great, smart, athletic play from a quarterback that displays incredible self awareness, field vision, a big arm, and an underrated ability to scramble out of the pocket and make people miss--one of the best quarterbacks to play college football in the last 2 decades."

When Braxton Miller throws that ball, it's a "Hail Mary." :wink2:

But hey, if we win, the talking heads can call it whatever they want.
It wasn't a Hail Mary. It was a Hello Braxton.

the color guy clearly says 'holy shit!' as Devin Smith catches the ball.

I thought this as well live. My buddy and I were going absolutely insane in his living room, and after the dizziness/lightheadedness went away and I sat down we replayed it a few times and the first thing I thought was "did he just say HOLY SHIT on air?" and after the 2nd/3rd time I came to that conclusion.
