I was stringing for a newspaper during the 1974 Michigan game. Wide right!

So excited during the first half that I forgot to take many photos. I'd used only two rolls when I normally would have gone through 6 to 8.

Huge upset and it followed a smart ass comment from Dennis Franklin. Asked if all Ohio athletes went to Michigan, he popped off, "Only the best ones."

I was in the stands for that one - I don't know what the betting line was, but it wasn't an upset. TSUN was #3 going into that game, and tOSU was #4 and had spent 7 weeks that season at #1.

This defense is playing great right now, and is definitely a huge part of the reason we won the last two games, but to win in November, you need to continue to improve. Yes I am thrilled we beat Wisconsin, and it doesn't matter how we got it done, I'm glad we got it done. But now I want to see this team take this season to a new level and end up in Indianapolis in December. Let's face it, three weeks ago nobody in Columbus thought we would ever have a chance to win the conference. Heck some thought we wouldn't even have a winning record. This team has improved drastically! The one thing that I feel needs to improve going forward though, is giving up late TDs. The difference between this game and the Nebraska game was that our offense was able to score late. The defense was able to stop Wisconsin at the end, but if there were more than 20 seconds on the clock, i'm not so sure they would have. Maybe this just illustrates how good Nebraska and Wisconsin's offenses are, but even against Illinois we gave up that long TD drive late, and then Illinois got the ball again and drove into the red zone, and then made the dumb mistake of not kicking a FG.

Eventually we may need the defense to win us a game late, and we definitely don't want to continue to give up 4th quarter TDs in tight games and rely on the offense to lead us back from behind. I never thought I would say this, but the offense bailed out the defense big time this weekend. If Miller doesn't score, then we are talking about how this team blew another huge late lead, and how the defense couldn't finish.

The last four offenses we have faced are definitely much stronger than the next four we face as a whole. So it is a good opportunity for this defense to put up some complete games, and completely shut down the opposition, thus giving the offense an opportunity to continue to get more comfortable, relaxed, and keep the rhythm going that they have started to develop.

We aren't there yet, but I think the hope lies in the fact that if this team continues to improve as much as it has in the last month, then by the time we head up North, this team is going to be more feared than any in the B1G.

Congrats, Buckeyes!

Congratulations to the Buckeyes on a great game and win!

My wife and I had a Halloween party on Saturday evening, so weren't able to watch the game live. I was keeping her (and myself) updated periodically via ESPN on my BlackBerry. I remember telling her that it was 26-14 Buckeyes with less than 5 minutes to play, and was basically over (I thought!) Checked again, and had to break the news to her that it was now 29-26 Badgers with less than a minute and a half - ouch!

Checked again, right as it was ending, and told her I had another update - she just frowned and said "I don't even want to hear it!" I said, "well, yes you do actually!" We watched the DVR'd game yesterday afternoon and she was screaming at the TV even though she knew the end result!

For us, it was a great FB Saturday, with big wins for both the Buckeyes and Huskers!

72 Mich game underdogs at home Goal line stands..stormed the field from the South Bleachers. I made it to the field Saturdaybut it wasnt a storm but more of a hobble my son helped me over the wall with a chair it was an amazing game..

YES! not one but two, the second one in the same part of the field as the 54 goal line stand that led to Hoppy's 54 yard scamper and the winning TD. Saw both games and frequently confuse 72 with 74, but both had dramatic endings and left Bo pulling out his hair in frustration. Fuck 'em. :oh:
