Game Thread Wisconsin 13, tOSU 31 (Oct 10, 3:30 ET, ABC/ESPN)

Main problem today is 5 of 13 with one pick - not Terelle's running. You may be the only human alive critical of tp's running instincts. He has picked up so many 1st downs with the out run because A) he beats players to the edge most times, and B) big nasty linebackers are waiting for the inside cut to end his season.
I might be. And that's why I labeled it as an annoyance. It's a personal annoyance with me. But I pick up on tendancies a lot......and if I were a defensive player in the Big Ten, I wouldn't even bother with the inside juke with Pryor.....I'd just keep running even with him towards the outside.

He gets first downs on a lot of runs based soley on the fact that he's a freak of nature.....but he also tries to bounce too many things outside. I'd like to see him take what he's given instead of having it in his head before hand that he's always going to go outside.

You're not the only one, BN. Pryor seems to turn a gain of six into a loss of two at least once a game. Of course, he makes up for it by turning a loss of two into a gain of thirty at least once a game as well.

Well I must say I'm quite frustrated by the offense, namely our very inconsistent Qb play. During the interview pregame when Tress was asked what it would take to win he said something like "whoever doesn't make costly mistakes" well thank goodness for our defense because Pryor really put Wisconsin in a positiion to make us pay. Infact if not for three Turnovers by the offense (USC, Indiana, and Wisconsin) our defensive stats are even better!!

The shotgun is helping him but he's just got to be confident in those intermidiate throws. The biggest throw I think he needs to improve on are the outs and the quick slants. Man that's there ALL day right now and he's throwing high on the slants and is often short on the out routes. He's got a mountain of potential but what I see is someone who's frustrated. He just needs to calm down and take what the defenses give him. If no one's open, step up and run for 3-4 yards instead of throwing it outta bounds or forcing things.

I just want to know exactly what was Improved upon "dramtically" that the QB coach talks about all the time. I'll take my odds with Pryor anyday but man I hope he breaks outta the funk he's been in this year because I'll tell you what the defense will only get us so far in the Penn State and Michigan games. Right now that PSU game really scares me considering how our offense is so hit or miss.

What more can be said about the defense though? While not entirely the offenses fault for keeping them on the field they just couldn't stop making plays to keep themselves on the field. Right now I'd challenge anyone to find a better defensive front than the one we enjoy every saturday. They just aren't talented they roll about 10 people in there that would almost all start for other teams in the big ten. Nathan Williams, Gibson, Simon, Denlinger, Wilson, Worthington, Heyward, and Goeble deserve major props. The only thing that keeps me pretty confident right now in winning the Big Ten is that this group just destroyed the best line they'll face all season. Infact the two best lines perhaps in the country were left in their wake.

But again if pryor can just get back to playing error free ball it's going to be tough to beat us. I'd just love to see #2 be able to hit those 0-10 yard throws more efficiently. Right now though the whole offense is in reverse and I think it's more us than it is the opponent.

the play where he almost got the first down makes me look like a dope on a regular basis. I'll be screaming for him to throw it away and he'll just gain 7 yards as if it were child's play.

it's the other plays that make me pull my hair out.

Yeah, I wonder why he ALWAYS tries to go outside?

The play that blew my mind today was when Pryor ran on a third and like 5 in the second half and when he was one yard shy of the marker, he stopped instead of just diving forward for the first...luckily the o lineman came and shoved him forward (Bryant I think). But all I could think was "dude run someone over and get the first down." Odd.

Was it Einstein who once said "the best offense is a good defense"? Was it Lombardi? Maybe someone wearing a sweater vest?

tOSU defense outscored the league's best offense and tOSU offense and tOSU special teams.

Since we're talking a little bit about qb play..It's amazing to me how TP can make throws like he did to Posey today were the ball was on his right side shoulder and where only he could get the ball..but struggle on much simpler throws. IMO it would do wonders if we started games by throwing quick screens out and swing passes to the backs just to get him in a rhythm because throwing these slants and sit down routes arent really working. It's obvious he has all the tools.

Great win today. The defense reaffirmed why I think it's a top 3 unit. I absolutely love to watch those guys play.

As for Pryor....I honestly think he's trying too hard. It's almost as if he has a laundry list of things he wants to accomplish at OSU, and he's rushing it. You cannot win a heisman before you win over your fan base. He needs to just slow down, enjoy the game, and do his best. He will get there, he needs to think less...and just let the game come to him. He's got it in him......

Its amazing, tOSU has won its last 4 games by the following scores:

38-0
30-0
33-14
31-13

Thats an average margin of victory of 33 points. We are giving up 6.75 points/game.

Yet the nation chooses to ignore the Buckeyes. Not only are we beating the teams we should (Unlike USC, Oklahoma) but we are doing it in convincing fashion. These boys are busting their asses, yet all that is said is "tOSU wins on 3 plays." No, we beat Wisky over the course of that entire fucking game, not just those three plays. TP had an awful start, but recovered nicely to complete 4 of 6 for 77 yards and a score. As bad as it felt, any of you who saw the Tate Forcier show tonight knows it could be much, much worse.

If we keep winning, the rest takes care of itself. I'm glad to see PSU play another pansy, they have only played one decent team and lost. So they will not be prepared for the big game environment of the tOSU game. As long as we take care of business against Iowa we are going to finish the year in the top 5, potentially the top 3. But I admit that the lack of recognition is a little frustration, given how well the men are playing. And to make matters worse, the nation will ignore us until the PSU, Iowa, scUM portion of the schedule.

All in all, I'm so fucking proud of this team. Rolling through the schedule on game at a time, bring on the Boilers!!!

"Looking forward to big games from Ross Homan and Jermile Hines...."
GO BUCKS!!

:osu:

This is what I said right before the game started....

Homan and Hines combined for 26 tackles, 2 sacks and one interception return for a TD. I'd say they did OK

And a forced fumble.... too bad the D didn't get it but Homan forced it.

I was wrong about yanking Pryor during the game, but I did say before the game, I think we'll win the turnover margin 2-1. that's about the only thing I was right about. I thought the offense would continue to develop, mutate and progress... but maybe previous poster is right, he is trying to do too much, thinking too much. Need to slow down. and STOP STARING AT YOUR RECEIVER!!

But holy shizzle what a defense!

I'd love to hear Brat Billymama's comments after the game...

Further evidence that this is easily our best defense since 2005, and maybe even before that. Awesome performance by those guys.

Can you imagine if we were in the SEC? ESPN would probably have declared our defense to be the best in the history of college football, declared Pryor to be the second-coming of Jebow, and given us our slot in the bottomline.

Listen my man I'll let you in on a secret. I don't buy ESPN's shitty magazine. I don't listen to Tom Luggindouche...I don't watch gameday...and I certainly don't give a shit what asshats like Mark May say...I turn to the BTN at halftimes. I hit these douchebags in the wallet.

Grow the fuck up and change the channel as much as you can. I hate to even have to watch football on their channels.

OSU needs to win the rest of their games...B10 champions 5 years in a row...beat Michigans road win streak...beat the skunks 6 years in a row...and win the fucking Rose Bowl. You know why...because it will chap those bastards asses knowing we are making them look as stupid as they are.

Another reason why ESPN is pissed is because of the B10 network. We are leaching money from them and they are beginning to lose money. Turn the channel and stop listening to0 these hacks...if you don't you are as big of a douche as they are.
