Game Thread Wisconsin 13, tOSU 31 (Oct 10, 3:30 ET, ABC/ESPN)

27 - I agree that his pick was a VERY bad pass, and I too think he should take the yards he's got instead of bouncing everything... But, looking at this game, as a set of data, is probably not a good idea.
I just want him to perform a lot better than he has shown this season. I realize we're not going for a NC this year, chaos thread or no. But I want to make a run next year and we're going to need the Pryor that was hyped as #1 overall to do that.

I don't know anyone who would disagree with that, just some to the other stuff I've seen is off the reservation.

this isn't fair. Pryor played very poorly today. he threw one bad INT and should have had another. his other throws were not on the mark, except the deep pass. he's also had a problem all year of throwing the ball too high.

and I'm extremely annoyed with every single one of his runs bouncing outside. he never cuts inside....every one of his jukes is to the nearest sideline.
.

Main problem today is 5 of 13 with one pick - not Terelle's running. You may be the only human alive critical of tp's running instincts. He has picked up so many 1st downs with the out run because A) he beats players to the edge most times, and B) big nasty linebackers are waiting for the inside cut to end his season.

TP is better when he's under control. Lately when he's bouncing it outside he's trying to do WAYYY too much.

Case in point: The option run in the first quarter where he ran hard, made his decision and got the first down. It wasn't spectacular, but it was what was there.

Case in point 2: The roll out play in the 4th quarter. Not only didn't he NOT get the corner, he didn't get the ball off AND took a penalty. He either needs to get rid of the ball OR turn on the jets and outrun that linebacker. That's NOT to say that the Wisky guy wouldn't have made the play anyway, but I think Pryor was trying to do to much there and it could have turned out badly.

very true. its pretty clear the game has not slowed down for him. imo pryor has everything you look for in a qb. but he hasn't put it together yet. i honestly don't expect him to until at least november.

I'm not so sure about that. There are many times that others have been critical of TP's running decisions. Turning up field and taking the 3-4 yards when its available as opposed to extending it to the sideline looking for the bigger play.

I thought we were talking about runs. If I understand you right, you're talking about scrambling. And I see that point. His pocket presence is hit and miss no doubt.

Wait, did you just say he doesn't go outside enough? now I'm really corn-fused.

I think the problem is manifested in both his running game and his passing game.

He's still trying to force things and hit the home runs every play. Honestly I think some of that mentality has to come from what the fucking idiots on the TV say too - they expect him to go 100 yards every time he touches the ball.

I thought he was maturing out of it a bit against Illinois, but he'll come around.

Yes you are confused...

Turning up field and taking the 3-4 yards when its available as opposed to extending it to the sideline looking for the bigger play.

He doesn't turn it up field, he looks to bounce it outside for the bigger play.

Before this goes another few steps I'm pretty sure there is 1000% agreement that he has a long way to go to consistently make the best decision with the play that doesn't form right away.

He still needs to throw it away at times, tuck and run at times, read coverage better at times and hit the timing throw sooner. But his running game is breathtakingly brilliant at times, while his pocket passing presence is not. He had amazingly bad moments today, and some really great plays too.

I like the earlier comment that more is on his plate, and for the remainder of this season he will have more bad plays and more great plays.

Yes, bow down to the 'king of the obvious'! ;D
