Finally voted.

Troy's my starter and Rex is the backup...can't go worng there.

Kills me to see Corny and CK not make the cut.

Germaine to me can't be one because he had the ball in his hand to still win that '98 MSU game and a team for the ages around him. Love the guy but no.

I had to go with Smith and Joe G.
Smith due to the heisman and 3-0 against tsun
Germaine, because in my opinion he was the best pure passer.
I understand Kern and Krenzel were on teams with nat'l champs but
Kern played under Woody who wasn't exactly known for letting his qbs go wild. Krenzel played efficiently, but had the defense not been so good, I really doubt the buckeyes would have went 14-0, I would guess 12-2.
And for anyone who said Germaine couldn't win with all that talent. Just remember who the coach was. John "I can't beat mulitiple Mich. schools in the same year" Cooper.

Runner up for Coop's nickname- Thugcruter (Thug recruiter just didn't have the same ring)

After going to school at tOSU during the early 90's, the dark days of tOSU football, I have to vote for Troy. Even though he didn't bring home the NC, my offseasons are still much more enjoyable thanks to his success against TSUN. Let's hope we are debating the same thing in 3-4 years about someone on our current squad!

Go Bucks!!

I think a lot of this has to do with the ages of the people who are voting and if they have actually seen them play in person or on extended film.

For me, it was a no-brainer choosing Rex but I straddled between Art and Troy before finally choosing Art. A lot of that had to do with the guys on the team and the coaching staff. I really don't think records mean that much because then you would have to base it on the entire team and not just the QB.

I voted for Krenzel (NC, perfect season) and Smith (Heisman, many records), with Kern coming in a close third (even though he won an NC and led the Buckeyes to 27-2 overall record, QB play wasn't quite as important back in the late 60's as it is today; Kern's teams also lost two NC's that they really should have won).

I think a lot of us oldies would strongly disagree...
