This kind of Draconian regime won't make me happy personally (I honestly think young men should get a little more slack), but the NCAA is going to have its sigmoidoscope so far up our ass, I don't see a feasible alternative.
We need someone that has proven themself...I have never heard of Meter or Stoopsand.....pnuts34;1929712; said:I disagree we don't need a disciplinarian as much as we need a proven winner. Meter, Stoopsand pelini r at the top of my list. Along with gruden of course. Winning cures all. Ask alabama. Didn't they have severe sanctions a little while ago and hired saban and haven't looked back.

Very good point.jlb1705;1929754; said:I agree with this. "Clean" programs don't have strict disciplinarians or beacons of morality as their head coaches - they have capable football men with a sufficient firewall around them to make sure that any NCAA problems fall on the shoulders of more replaceable people.
For as grave a mistake as Jim Tressel made in not forwarding those emails to compliance, the fact that he received them and was the first to read them was just as damaging.
