Who will be tOSU's head coach on July 1, 2012? (betting closed)

He's already worn S&G on "our" sideline when he was an assistant here in the 80's. Give the guy a break, he's got his masters from OSU and who knows, maybe the fruit juice just didn't agree with him. I'll take a grad over most of those guys.

My problem with UM is that he would initially, from day fucking one, come in and be bigger than the program. We don't need that. We need a cog in the wheel...not somebody who thinks they're something bigger than the entire fucking machine.

Pellini is a grad too....a real grad (i.e. somebody who went to college at Ohio State rather than just picked up the obligatory Masters in Phys Ed while an assistant coach). I don't want him either because he's fucking psycho and will have a Woody sideline meltdown without having first had 28 years of history, national championships and goodwill.

LF--if he remains untainted by the current scandal--is perfect.

Ehh, Luke F hasn't won a game yet.

I'm reserving judgement until I see the results on that front.

$50 on grad and $100 on BN27. Couldn't pass on those odds.

That being said, I hope that our current Coach Fickell is here for the next 30 years. I love "true" Buckeyes, and Coach has that. I love the "big uglies" and Coach has that. I love great wrestlers who become better football players, and Coach has that going on as well.

Sexy picks as the "next" coach are floating all around. To me the BEST pick is the guy in place right now. Everyone here is old enough to see what he's done as a Coach and apppreciates his success. Us older guys remember what he did on the field, and that was spectacular!

After what I just posted, 1-1 on Coach Fickell? Okay, I'll drop $1k:oh:

Peace

Rich Rod is Urbans dingleberry

If luke is not hamstrung by massive penalties he will be fine...if the NCAA looks to ESPN to tell them how to handle our penalties Luke will be a sacrificial lamb and it will take a big hire to overcome Mark Mays sanctions on us....much like Bama hired Saban after 10 years of suck....I prefer the former

Luke has everything you want in an Ohio State coach...except the experience. How great of an x's and o's guy is he, how does he manage close game situations, how will he be as THE man as opposed to being a part of a great staff?

I have faith in Fickell and think he's going to do well. At the same time though, I know that if Hazell was on staff he would have been chosen over Luke.

The bottom line of it all is Luke is the guy for this year, so I'm behind him. Best case scenario for OSU is Luke taking this job by the reigns and leaving no doubt that he's the one we want in charge.

Luke SHOULD get the job, barring just a total disaster this season. If you want to clean up the image of osu, I don't know how you go out and hire someone as shady as Meyer. But that's just in my IMO.......

Not to play devils advocate, but Luke was here when our image got sullied.

exactly what I was looking for

I KNEW you were Joe Paterno!!!

You were just waiting in the wings until a vbet like this came along so you can go 'all-in' on yourself as a bet. Then being the real Joe Paterno you will quit Penn St and take the Ohio St job just so you can get the 65k/1 odds and the vTrillions that would come with it?

I just don't know how long Urban would stay at a school if he does decide to coach again. With his health issues, he tried to change his coaching style in his last year at Florida and it didn't really go over well. I think they were 7-5 in his last year? Perhaps he was only as good as Tebow was?

With OSU, there's no doubt he would have huge recruiting wins from all over the country that would improve the program, but I think we'll have to see what the sanctions are to see if they will be hit with scholly losses which would make an impact on depth.

Overall, I think Urban would not be a great choice with the health issues he has had recently. I don't see him being a long term solution so what good would that do? I'd rather get a good young-ish HC with some experience...like a Pelini or Patterson (TCU). I guarantee Pelini would have the team humming with inspired defense.
