Who else is going to be glued to ABC tonight? (Lost)

I can't help but thinking that entire last episode was a complete waste of time. Why spend an entire week's episode explaining something that could have been done in a few 5 minute flashbacks? They seriously could have ran through the idea of the woman killing Jacob's mother, the two boys growing up together, then them splitting apart and creating the smoke monster.

Maybe it would have been alot to cram into a series of flashbacks, but i think they could have introduced it a little while back and still have given the viewers all the same information. I feel like we were robbed of an episode to recap a back story that wasn't really that efficient in adding value to the show.

Quick question, did they ever explain the giant 4 toed foot statue?

They showed it from the back when it was not destroyed...looked like some sort of Egyptian god. And then this season they showed it get hit by a tidal wave and get busted up. But no...never explained who built it or why.

So, I've never watched Lost, but hear it's a pretty good show. I was thinking about starting to watch it at this point in the series - would you guys mind bringing me up to speed so I could understand what's going on?

Thanks in advance.

Well, they actually answered a bunch of lingering questions tonight. The set up for the finale looks to be interesting, though I'm wandering why Desmond is gathering all of them to go to...... a concert?

I'm assuming its Jack's son's piano concert that was mentioned at the beginning of the episode because Jack and Claire will be there.
