Just this past week, either Sunday or Monday night (forget which), HBO started re-airing the first season of Deadwood from the beginning, they usually don't do that unless they have a new seaon ready to roll out shortly after the new season of the one currently running (Carnivale) ends. Deadwood has been getting some decent critical praise so you would hope that it will be given a decent run at least. On a side note, I watched a show on the History channel called "Wild West Tech" that went over the history of the Deadwood territory. I didn't realize that all of the characters in the show were real people (I obviuosly knew that Wild Bill, Calamity Jane, and Seth Bullock were actual people). The show did a short profile on the real Al Swearingen and what a bastard he was in life. Hell, even the names of the two whore houses are historically accurate.
P.S. I can't wait for the new season of Carnivale to start Sunday. Could there be more questions that need answered heading into this?
