Who else is going to be glued to ABC tonight? (Lost)

Is there actually new content? Or did they just save some of the fall episodes to air now?

The plan was always to start Season 4 at this time and run a 16-episode season without any breaks.

My understanding is they had half of the episodes written when the strike occurred, so they are planning on showing 8 episodes and then hope to show the other eight once the writers return. I have read that some changes have been made to the scripts as a result of having two 8-episode runs instead of one 16-episode run for purposes of not leaving too much of a gap in the story-arc once the break occurs.

Yep - the first of the new content episodes airs Thursday - following a 1-hour recap of all that has gone before.

Wednesday is the season closer (2-hours) repeated.

The season opener on Thursday at 9pm is followed by Eli Stone - a pilot.

I can't wait for Lost to return. It's still one of the best shows on TV.

It will be 8 episodes of bliss, since all that the networks are littered with now are bullshit reality shows.

I will watch, but I am a sucker.

It is a good show, a very good show, but they way they intend to end the series is just not good.

I know with the strike their hands are tied this season, but to do 3 short seasons. I think the fan base will just fade away by the end.

At first I didn't quite understand this post until just now--I gave the impression that the new season started tonight. My internal clock is off big time this week--for some reason I kept thinking yesterday was Wednesday and this morning I have been in Thursday mode all day long.

For a seson's premier, I thought it was pretty flat. Nothing of significance occurred. Only interesting point made last night is that 6 people make it off the island at some point (Jack, Kate, Hurley, and 3 others yet to be named).

Other opinions?

Seems we're in "Flash forward" mode from here on out. The Hurley flash forward happened before Jack's flash forward from last season's last episode. (When Jack meets Hurley, he comments that he think he'll grow a beard, for example).

In last season's final scene, Jack says he's tired of "Lying" and Hurley talks about how he "hasn't told anyone" (or whatever he said), so there's some kind of "big secret" about what they did.

Hurley is able to see Jacob (Apparently now only he, Locke and Ben can do that (although, I'm just assuming that about Locke - it's only been "established" that he heard Jacob)

I figure this season will be devoted to the "Oceanic Six" deciding they have to go back to the Island.

I'd like to know who's funeral Jack attended last season (last epi) and if that person was one of the Oceanic Six. My guess is yes, but who knows.

I liked it, mainly because it has established the new story line with the flash forwards.

It is really different from the flash backs, and I actually found myself frustrated with some of the decisions being made (like Jack/Kate giving the coordinates to the island away when they could have not answered the phone).

So our losties are divided into two sides, so to speak. I found it interesting that people from both sides of the fence (Jack and Kate from Jack's side and Hurley from Locke's side) made it off the island. This show has always been confusing, but I thought I read somewhere that this season will have both flash forwards and flash backs. Hmmm...something major is going to happen between Jack's folks and Lockes groupies...

Stay tuned...

and hurley even mentioned to jack that he should have went with him (instead of going with locke). so it seems something major is going to happen.

tsteele's out of left field prediction: the person in the casket is Ben Linus. nobody goes to the funeral as everyone he's ever known is on the island now. jack realizes that ben tried to keep the island safe, and keep him there. since jack desperately wants to go back to the island, he is the only one to go to the funeral.

I thought that it was probably Ben too. But why would he have been one of the ones to make it off the island?
