Who else is going to be glued to ABC tonight? (Lost)

Good episode overall but I think it would have fit better if it would have been done at the end of the mini fall season...then start out this season with the episode that shows next week.

I would have to agree. Although leaving Ben on the operating table was a great cliff-hanger last fall, this episode seemed to have a more "end of chapter" feel to it.

Did anyone catch Tom telling jack that the reason they dont leave the island for the surgery was because of tstange things in the sky?

This was the most interesting thing said last night and fits in with one of my speculations. I believe Michael will return to the island sometime this season or next because the bearings given to him by Ben at the end of last season no longer applies.

I missed this last night, and I missed what you're trying to say in your post. What word did you mean to type when you said "tstange?"

You guys are slacking with your Lost-talk this season!

Last night was the best episode of the season, IMO, even though it was mainly Desmond's back/front story.

I was curious as to what happened to him after he turned the key at the end of season two, and apparently it caused him to travel back in time and keep re-living the same things over and over again.

At the end he admitted that he has saved Charlie's life twice already, and that is is inevitable that Charlie will die.

It was a very interesting episode, I'll probably have to watch it again today to try to make more sense of it.

I was thinking about his saving Charlie twice, and it occured to me that he's also saved Claire twice, whether Desmond thinks he's "saving her" or not. I find that somewhat interesting because if you recall, in season one, Claire and Charlie were "kidnapped" by Ethan and the others to get Claire's baby. If you recall, Charlie was found hanging, dead, by Jack and Locke. Jack was able to revive him.... So, anyway.... you know when he was saying "The universe has a way of self correcting" maybe Charlie's supposed to be dead already. But then, again, both times Charlie has been saved, so has Claire (assuming the lightning strike would have killed her too, since she was also in her hut (where Charlie was to be when the lightning hit).

Likewise, if it's true that the universe has a way of catching up, then it seems to me Claire is now, at a minimum, on the "hit list" with Charilie since she was "supposed" to drown, but Desmond saved her (and we know that if Charlie had lived his desitiny (per Dez) then she would have still been dead... Well, I guess someone else could have saved her.... but, still, unlikely... if Charlie had died saving her, then she probably would be dead too...)

Also, I think the chick who was selling the wedding ring was one of the scientists (I wouldn't have known that but for the preview for next week, and I could still be wrong about that).

The other thing I keep wondering about is the end of season II when Penny's people in Antartica got the reading when the hatch blew... what are those people up to, ya know?

I thought the episode was ok, but by no means did I think that it was the best of the season. As for Charlie's character getting killed off, I'm ok with that--he's selfish and even when he means well, he just ends up getting in the way and/or screwing things up. I think BKB may be right, though, that it may be Claire who is killed off b/c the show likes to throw curveballs.

That's a good point regarding Claire, it is likely that she is also to die. I didn't even think about that last night.

I got the feeeling that the old lady was someone connected to the behind the scenes part of the island, but I'm not too sure. It seemed as if she was also living the same days over again.

Next week they are claiming they will answer three big questions, but I doubt they will.

Well, considering the general TV-veiwers are complete morons it comes as no surprise.

Everyone wants to be a judge for American Idol, everyone still watches even though every year they show people with absolutely no talent get laughed at over and over during "audition weeks".

I think Lost will be ok, but they need to get back to the 9 pm time slot.

Pretty weak episode last night if you ask me--which is not surprising since it was Jack-centric. Nothing to really advance the plot and they certainly did not answer 3 big questions, as was promised.

This show needs some help as the plot seems to be spinning in circles with little to no advancement.

I use to really like this show, but the constant leaving questions open with no answers is annoying now. Plus I liked when the show was a little more mysterious then just a group others who formed a little cult and created their own society. I am hoping things get better but I think I am going to be in for a let down.
