Which College Football Team Is the Most Prestigious?

This is great stuff, and you should get paid far more than what my 79.99 subscription fee to this site gives you!!

Not trying to be a dick at all but is there an easier way for me to read the table? (with the exception of going to the ESPN Boards)

Interesting point: The Buckeyes' 1995 squad earned 40.5 points despite not winning even a conference title. Almost all of the points were from individual award winners. The Buckeyes were absolutely loaded that season, and the result (11-2, losses to Michigan and in the Citrus Bowl) was arguably the greatest waste of talent in the history of college football.

I always thought that 1995 squad would have beat the 2002 buckeye squad (9 out of 10 times, they were that good). That 1995 buckeye team was one of the most talented teams in the past 20 years. The 1986 Hurricanes were the same way. I thought that team could have beat most of those championship Hurricane teams.

I think you're selling the 2002 team short.

Was 95 talented on Offense? You bet. Was the 95 D in the same league as 02? Not a fucking chance.

Had Mo C been healthy all year, '02 would've fucked most teams up. The "luckeye" lable wouldn't be so prevalent, since most idiots only pay attention to offensive statistics when determining how worthy a given team is.

The 2002 team was incredibly talented as well--every defensive starter was an NFL draft pick. I haven't heard that fact about many other teams. Popular sentiment (especially from fans of our Big Ten rivals) is that the 2002 team wasn't that talented and simply lucked into a NC. The facts simply don't support that position.

2002 team was very talented. People knocked on that team because they had several close calls (cincy-4 points, Wiscy-5 points, Penn St-6 points, Purdue- 4 points, Ill-7 points (ot), and Michigan-5 points) . Last time I checked a win is a win. Great Defense

People say the 97 Michigan team was a fluke. That team beat 7 ranked teams and 4 top ten teams at the time that year. That was probably the toughest schedule Michigan had in a long time. The same reason people knock that 02 buckeye team is because Michigan didn't have an offense that was explosive. Michigan only scored 30points or more in 3 games....here is the kicker........

That Michigan defense only gave up 20+ points in one game the whole year and held 7 teams to 10 points or less.

Opponents average score for the year was 9.5 points per game. That defense had 20 interceptions and only gave up 3 touchdown passes.

That secondary was one of the best if not the best I have seen. Charles Woodson, Marcus Ray, Andre Weathers, and Tommy Hendricks.

That was when Michigan had a defense that scared the shit out of people. Now that sorry defense makes average players look like Heisman candidates.
