Where does the team go from here?

Dennis Dixon proved last year how one man can make a difference in the way a team plays. WE ARE A DIFFERENT AND MUCH BETTER TEAM WITH BEANIE WELLS IN THE BACKFIELD. He is a heisman type player, a playmaker, a difference maker, and keeps oppossing D's honest.

I'm not saying we would have won the game. Sometimes teams are just better and that is the case with USC. But the complexion of the game would have been different with Beanie in the backfield.

And though USC is much the same team as last year, Carroll himself say's this is the best defense that he has had at USC. We just played against a better team yesterday.

I do know that we are a different team with Beanie in there vs. not being in there. Would we have beaten USC, no, but his presence would have lifted the team. This reminds me of 2002 and the team's performance with and without MoC.....

Exactly. We were a different team with Mo Clarrett in the backfield, just like we are a different team with Beanie in the backfield. No question about it.

I'm hoping we can win the Big Ten and earn the BCS bid to the Rose Bowl. We haven't played one in years and it would be a great finish for our seniors.

I also hope USC is in the NC game.

I don't have a NC or bust attitude, but a lot of people are throwing in the towel and expecting this season to suck when we could still win the conference.

Beating Michigan is all I care about regardless.

You my friend are a most ignorant fool, every major opponent we face is of upmost importantance we must take this loss and think of every sec team as major threat.

Since it was moved to the last game of the season, in 1935, TSUN is THE GAME on the schedule for most Buckeye fans. The only reason we can even begin to compare the clashes with the nations elite with TSUN is because JT has OWNED them. I didn't give a fuck about a bowl game under Coop, because it was irrellevant.

BUCKEYE FOOTBALL IS BEATING MICHIGAN.

Who's the fool? Beating Michigan is the equivalent of a national championship and always has been the most important game on our schedule.

I don't ever think I can recall a Buckeye coach being fired for losing to Wisconsin, Penn State, etc...

Some thoughts for now and the future.....

This is some things that I have noticed and that I am concerned with that could possibly be fixed in the future.

1. The past 2 national championship games as well as the last 2 regular season losses (Illinois/USC), I have noticed the non adjustments on the defensive side of the ball. When things aren't working, we haven't changed our gameplan, like we have in the past. These blow outs are going to keep happen if we don't start adjusting.

2. These guys need a kick in the ass. I don't know what's wrong with them, but they look uninspired. Not sure what's going on here

3. I'm not going to pick out certain plays from last night's game but the safeties looked lost.

4. WLB needs some work.

5. Boeckman under pressure gets happy feat and panics and appears to just heave the ball. This is part of the reason why he has had so many TO's, as well as pressure

6. I think we may see Pryor start against Minny if Boeckman is uneffective against Troy. Just for a change of things.

7. The stat that most bothers me from last night is, all 3 LB's, MJ, and both Safeties led team in tackles with everyone else at 1 tackle. This should throw up a RED flag

8. For the love of god, why do you blitz Coleman (more than 3 times) when a LB can't get pressure on Sanchez? I don't understand this.

9. Kickoff return/blocking was atrocious last night and we may even need to change up the personel. Why isn't Small back there?

10. Offensive play calling was at least better last night.

11. Why can't we have Pryor throw the ball? I know he's a freshman, and he will learn to throw the ball to the open guy, but it seems like at least every other snap is the Play Action Pass/QB draw. Maybe let him loose a little and see how he does.

10. Hopefully we can get things changed around and win the big 10, but if we play like we have we're in some trouble

And for a bit more perspective. In the past 3 years we have lost to
3(probably) National Champions and Illinois(on a ref no call). That is a heck of a record no matter what the score in those games.

I think we also lost to Penn State who ended the year as #3?

But, regardless, doesn't Tress have the best winning pct. of any coach in Ohio State history?

It is going to be interesting to see what/if any changes are going to be made this week. If rumors about some changes on the OL are true, that is a good sign that things are not going to remain status quo.

Coach T's commitment to using TP is also encouraging. As he is used and he develops more as a passer, our Offense will look entirely different by the time the season ends, to what we saw Saturday night.

I'm still not sure if we have any answers along the DL. We just were not able to put pressure on MS and along with the OL, that remains my biggest concern. Perhaps moving Heyward inside permanately would help or even switching up to a 3-4 Defense if it would mean putting our best players on the field.

Just watched the OU game and the D-line got pushed around in that game.......by OU! Guess that says a lot. :(
Anyone think that Wiscy and Illinois and State Penn won't push these guys around? Those will be though games.
