I think Roby subconsciously feels obligated to "live up to" his preseason AA status and has therefore not been as disciplined in his approach this season. But I still think he'll be a great pro; he's as physically gifted a defensive back as I've seen at Ohio State since Jack Tatum.
I like Roby, but he's as physically gifted as the man Woody touted as the best athlete he ever coached? Roby is good. Tatum was on another level.

It's probably to late in the season but I always thought maybe Roby could play the linebacker position. He can really sting a runner with his hard hits. I watched Shazier a couple of times blitzing from his position. Did we ever see Roby blitzing from his position? I can't recall seeing that, but maybe he did a couple plays.

He's blitzed quite a lot in the past 5 weeks actually, and it usually works out well for us.

I have the "hat rule". If I throw my hat across the room - into the corner of the window seats from my recliner - Ohio State is not doing well. On Ohio State's submission of their 28th point, the hat was relocated to said corner. Disturbing, disgusting, and embarrassing performance given what was on the line and who the opponent was. Any effort to make it anything less than that is a departure from reality.

What if someone walks in front of the path of your hat, preventing it from reaching the window seats? Would that be a sign that tOSU is playing better than you thought?

Best not watch football with Dikembe Mutumbo then.

I thought the line played extremely well Saturday given the loss of Bosa and at times the absurd lack of calls for blatant holding. This put additional amount of pressure on the back 7. Scheelhouse got extremely lucky on a few passes that he floated late and back over the middle, that no one was there to pick them off. I would be interested to see us go with 5 guys on the DL, RS in the middle, and 5 DBs at times against IU. Spence and Bosa with pressure from the outside and pick 3 to implode the middle of IUs line.

You could always put Marcus on the outside with Bosa inside of Spence. That leaves the option to drop Spence into coverage as an ad-hoc LB... which we've been doing quite a bit anyway... and Bosa would become the "DE" on that side.
Indiana's OL would never really know whose coming and whose not.
But I'm sure there are significant weaknesses to this armchair coaching scheme, and the defense already struggles to not mess up assignments in the current scheme. They'd have to learn something completely new.

If you are going to do that, why not just make Spence a LB? I hate seeing him coverage knowing he is going to pressure the QB if he stays on the line. I hated when the Dolphins dropped Jason Taylor in coverage and I hate it when the Buckeyes do it. Use the strength of the man on the field.

If you make him an outside linebacker and Marcus on the end and blitz him from time to time, that would probably work but I don't like seeing Spence in coverage.
