It is just too damn hard to run the table these days. I say you drop one, but only because almost everybody will drop one. You often need a Holy Buckeye or a Cock Block type play to get there, or something like the OSU win in Jan '97 that allowed Florida to play FSU for the Title. Luck, bounce of the ball, sprained knees that might have been ACL tears, an official's call too close to overturn, those are all dominoes that have to fall your way.

I'd like to see a tOSU-UF rematch, with both of us being the highest ranked one loss teams. I just don't want some 11-0 Cinci type team mucking up the BCS.

Since you're so sure that OSU will "drop one." Perhaps you would like to enlighten us as to who you feel will "drop" the Bucks this year........That should spark some lively debate.

Where did I say "so sure"??? How many perfect seasons have you had the last fifty years? How many has most teams? It's freaking hard - and also requires some luck. If you can tell me that TP can't possibly get hurt on a tackle after he picks up a 3rd and 13 scrambling, then I'll reconsider. But its Big-10 football, and I am going to assume the other teams are trying too.

You should run it down the Canes' throats, so that does not worry me unless you try to run wide all the time, so that leaves an experienced Hawkeye team, a damn good Wisky team, and the who-the-hell-knows game, which we all seem to have, where inopportune penalties and turnovers bite you in the ass, and the other side plays the game of its life and starts to believe in the 4th quarter - while your guys get sphincter sqeezeage issues.

We've all seen it. Think Zooker and Juice a few years back. Play that ten times and you win nine of them.

Feel free to get all offended though.

I'm not so sure that Iowa is fake good or OSU should have necessarily won by 14 or more points. Remember, Iowa's first score could have very easily have been a TD....... their receiver (Stross I believe) dropped a sure TD pass which would have put Iowa up 7-0. Instead they had to settle for 3. Iowa's first drive of the second half ended up with their kicker missing a 23 yard FG. Iowa also missed out on some key 3rd down situations mainly due to their receivers having a case of alligator arms.

Having stated all of that.........OSU had their share of missed opportunities as well......But the bottom line is........that game could have gone either way.......Thankfully, it was in Columbus. It could have been a different story had it been played in Iowa.
OK, Trev.

It wouldn't have been a different story had it been played in Iowa, and it hasn't been a different story in all but 14 of these team's meeting on the field. As I said, I've read the "Iowa is for real" story enough times to know that they're not.
Iowa will be a tough out. The game will be played in November so both teams should be at their peak.........I expect this game to come down to the last play.
It's college football, and I'm not advocating taking Iowa lightly. You could well be right. But... I doubt it.

Who says I'm offended??? I'm simply asking you to tell us who OSU is going to lose to...........You're the one who is getting offended. Now.......I'll ask again........Who is OSU going to lose to?

Ok Miss Cleo,

Had the game been played in Iowa.......Iowa would have definitely lost.

We have the experience and talent to beat anyone in the NATION. However, I think we have a schedule that could make us stub our toe 1-4 times if we don't respect, execute, and prepare for these teams. Miami, Wisconsin, Iowa, PSU, and yes scUM (their offense should be good, plus they get us after Iowa) are all capable of giving us really good games.

I think we drop 1 game. Not sure who or where but I am with gator it's just so tough to win all your games. Look at Florida against Ole Miss or Us against Illinois/Purdue. Sure we have more talent than anyone we'll face this season but sometimes that just don't matter. We need Pryor to be like he was down the stretch if we are to run the table. If he comes out to start the year like he did last year (trying to do it all himself) we will lose 1 or 2 games this year. He just has to play within himself and not try to force things. Thing like picking up the 1st down with his feet instead of heaving the ball downfield hoping to get lucky. I believe Pryor's the key though to how our year will be. If he starts out forcing the ball trying to win the heisman in one game then forget it we'll drop one sooner or later. But if he plays as a peice of our offense then look out. We have a great stable of backs, a veteran Oline, and a playmaker out wide. Just facilitate, make plays when they present themselves, and be smart. If he can do that then maybe we do go undefeated.

In saying that I believe Pryor will have one game where he tries too hard or try's to do it himself and we'll lose. I'll say 12-1 with a Rosebowl Victory over Oregon or Oregon State.

I'm not so sure you can blame a loss entirely on one person........I know just about everybody will point to Pryor's poor play in the loss to Purdue. However, the defense also played its worst game of the season. I can't remember the receivers name, but he killed us on 3rd down time after time. You win and lose as a team........period.

Ur right win as a team and lose as a team. However, if Pryor cuts down on his turovers I just don't see many teams able to beat us. The last time a team beat us that was just better was USC in 08'. We don't need him to do it all is what i'm saying, not that if we lose it'll be his fault. I do believe though that if we do lose a game it'll probably be one where Pryor doesn't play very well.

Iowa and Wisconsin are of equal a challenge. On one hand Wisconsin is much more run oriented and physical, on the other Iowa has a terrific WR tandem.

Comes down to who's better on defense and I think in that case it's a toss up. Funny though, as we get closer to the season start the more i'm worrying about Miami. QB who can give us problems if he plays well, and a defense that's normally good to great.

What your posting is that since OSU is 45-14 against Iowa (with a few ties thrown in) you seem to feel that Iowa is not for real........Remember, Iowa returns a lot of players that won a BCS game last year.........plus the game is in Iowa City............

So I guess by your logic.........all the OSU team and staff has to do is make a movie about how OSU owns the series and then print the overall series record on their uniforms prior to kickoff in Kinnick Stadium and this game is a 75%-90% slam dunk............that is a movie I don't buy.
Umm... no.

What I'm posting is that I've heard all about how great all kinds of other Iowa teams were supposed to be and Ohio State has beaten them at the Shoe and in Kinnick. Consistently. And I expect the same result this year as well. Why? Because Iowa is Iowa and Ohio State is Ohio State.

More indepth preview to follow. (but you'll have to wait until the Wednesday before the game when the BP Iowa Game preview comes out to read it).

Edit: And, incidentally, whatever is my opinion about Iowa... don't bullshit me with this crap about how the team and staff should approach the game. I'm a fan, not a coach or player. I fully expect Tress and the team to take the Iowa game as seriously as they take every game.
