I have to go with 10-3. I'm predicting a loss to USC, a slip up somewhere in the big ten (hopefully against that team up north...lol). That would most likely put you guys in the rose bowl in which i predict another loss to make it 10-3.

To me it is hard to see past USC right now because that will be the true test of this year's Buckeyes. If the Buckeyes pull out any sort of win in that game, I say look the fuck out and the team will in serious contention for a MNC. Otherwise, I think there will be at least one and possibly two other losses. I would set par for this year's team at 11 wins including the bowl game. They will impress me if they do better.

EDIT: I almost forgot to post my vote: 12-1. I have a gut feeling that this team will fall short somewhere in the regular season, still win or tie for the Big10 Championship, play in a BCS game and win it.

I'm thinking 12-1, but I wouldn't be surprised if we went 13-0. But it'll be very hard for voters to put us back into another NC games after our previous 2! It's not fair and it sucks, but I don't think that the voters think the nation wants us back in the big game just yet after our previous embarassments.

I went with 13-0, but I don't think it's necessarily getting screwed by the BCS. I definately see us being able to win vs USC, Penn State will feel our wrath. But hey, even if we go 12-1 or 11-2 with a BCS bowl win, it will put us in the drivers' seat for a NC run and a Heisman for TP in 2010.

(Back to back Heismans when he comes back in 2011!!) Hahaha!

13 - 0.

I'm out on the westcoast and I think people are seriously underestimating how significant USC QB and Off/Def Coordinator shifts will affect them. Even Mark Sanchez and Colt McCoy struggled in their first few games. Add that to our DBs/DL & to the amount of talent/speed (4.3s galore) we have in the 2008 and 2009 classes, put it in Columbus, and we're looking at a hard-fought W against the Trojans.

As it relates to our youth, the 2002 NC had a similar feel in that they also were supposed to be a year away. But I don't think you can bank on waiting; sometimes thinking like that puts you on a road to nowhere fast, waiting for upperclassmen to shine; it didn't work for UM back with Henne and Hart. Last year was supposed to be our year then an injury to Beanie changed that in a heartbeat. In 2002, true freshman like Clarrett stepped up as did Crabtree for TT and JJones for Bama. Both Tebow and Bradford overachieved their Sophomore year and got the Heisman. There is no reason not to expect that Pryor (and the other underclassmen, anxious to earn a rep and solidify future starting roles for the next few years) won't do the same. Let's win 'em all then worry about next year.

As far as the Big Ten, I would be more concerned if we hadn't lost a couple of league games in the last couple years. It tends to be that if at least one team beats us, then the others collectively relish in the victory but also can lose a bit of their spark. It's when you have those back-to-back undefeated league runs (or when you are ranked #1) that the other teams have a big bulls-eye for you.

Last year's Fiesta Bowl was ideal; OSU played about as well as you could and still lose the game; perfect motivation. Add that to Pryor losing to his home state team and I believe you will see a bit of collective overachieving by this team the same way the 2007 team did.

What the X factor is, of course, is they have to actually go out and do it. But I believe that time has arrived (we've been simmering for the last few years) and I predict we beat SC to avenge last year's loss then finish things up by beating Florida for the NC and return the favor from Jan 2007.

The key is Tressel trusting his players to let loose a little more and let more or their athleticism take over like he did with Troy & Co. I believe he will do that with Pryor this year; he got the player everyone wanted, he has Pryor's loyalty and his ear, and Tress is not going to risk letting him down by being too conservative, especially with the weapons we have.

Go Bucks!!! :osu:

12-1.

I think USC beats Ohio State at home eliminating all chances for a national championship appearance since I think we'll see two undefeated teams in that slot this year.

USC will make the national championship this year placing Ohio State with the Pac10 runner-up in the Rose Bowl, where Ohio State will end their recent drought in the bowl-win column.

If they manage to beat USC I think they make the NC game and lose. I think they're a year away in that sense.

12-1 with the loss coming to USC.

I just don't think that this team has it in them. I'm sure I'll change my mind as the season draws closer, but that's where I am now.

Win the Rose Bowl and take some of the ammo away from the national haters.

Looking at the schedule, I realistically see 12-1, maybe 11-2, and winning whatever bowl they get into, even if it is the MNC game.

That said, I really don't care as long as they brutalize the "Dick Rod Pocket Rocket Show" in that big Ann Arbor whorehouse this year.

:oh:

:io:(3+ days hangin )

win @ tsun and a BCS game and I'm VERY happy.
