What kind of car do you drive?

Aren't you a Subaru guy?

Had a Suby. Excellent bad weather car. Never got stuck.
Toyota Rav4. 145,000 miles. Just broke the original drive belt and got towed. New belt $40 and good as new. Excellent small ute after you add better tires.
Wife has a Mini Cooper on order. A non-fire starting, non-turbo, basic one (referred to by Mini fans as a "Justa".:tongue2:

First car since 1998!

I bought a pristine (super anal previous owner) 2004 Audi A4 Turbo. As my friend runs the dealership, he ripped a guy off and gave me the rewards, plus he replaced all the random stuff that goes bad (timing belt, water pump, tires, brakes, etc.). Woo hoo!

The anal guy still had the original brochure and sticker, multiple sets of floor mats for different weather, etc.

Sounds like you made out on that deal! Glad to hear you are settling in nicely again!

I drove a 5 speed, no super-charged mini cooper in high school. Loved it! It was like driving around a go-cart with super awesome handling. I'm 6 foot 4 and so is my brother. It had tons of leg room, as long as you're in the front seat. The car was also very safe. Might have saved my life. I got t-boned by some guy going about 35 mph and walked away with nothing more than a sore neck the next day. Mini's have tons of airbags.

Funny story relating to that. The car was all boogered up after that. For some dumb reason, the insurance agency of the guy who hit my car had the damages appraised at a local shop. The totaled it up to about 12 grand on a 15 grand car (at best.) I knew by looking at the car that there was more than 12 grand worth of damage. They fixed it up, gave it back to us, and it was a really shitty fix. All the interior work was just messy and the paint was terrible and there was an issue with the transmission. They paid for a rental car for us for the entire summer before finally totaling the car and giving us 15 grand (which was the price we paid for it two years earlier .

I tracked the car on car fax later that year. It was shipped to like Tanzania or somewhere like that :slappy:

Welcome to the Quattro club. You'll enjoy it. Look up Audizine.com. Lots of good people and help over there if you are inclined to DIY.

Post a pic for the rest of us silver knuckles...

I don't want to post a pic. It is crimson. The only color I wouldn't want! Ha. No, it's a pretty car, and I couldn't pass it up on color. Also, it is the CVT transmission. I've only driven a manual before (except a few rentals and driving imbibed friends' cars) and it feels odd at times, but it may just be the way that I am driving it, and the whole variable transmission thing. It just seems like it sputters or hiccups at times if I accelerate really slowly at slow speeds, and only rarely, and only after lots of driving and in inclimate weather. I think I worry too much.

Side note: I just went to the BMV today, and I have to take the written test and get an Ohio license. All I remember is that purple flags are funerals and you are supposed to honk really loudly to show that you care for the loss of a loved one.

Don't forget you are required to flip off anyone with a UM license plate or bumper sticker.

You'll be trollin' in style. :pimp:

Me? Still running with the 2008 Acura RDX turbo. Not sure how I'm ever going to drive a non-turbo again, now.
