Are you being serious?

If so I have a question. Which car do you prefer, the G-wagon or Cayenne Turbo?

Yes, I'm serious. And the Cayman S is orange, just like the photo.

I prefer the Cayenne Turbo S. It's a beautiful car, high performance, and great for road trips. The G-wagon is more rugged and utilitarian, and it's driveable in the snow (the Cayenne Turbo S has 21" wheels that do not accomodate snow tires). You can't go wrong with either car, but they are kind of at the opposite ends of the SUV spectrum.

On a side note ... we used to have a couple of Land Rover Defenders. If you are looking for a utilitarian SUV, that it the car to own. Very difficult to find one, however, which is why I went with the G-wagon.

I hate all of you. Always wanted a Jeep-on-steroids Defender 90 when I was growing up. Then they stopped making them here.

Well they never made them here...they just imported them for a few years.

To be brutally honest though if your primary interest is for a rugged vehicle to use off road. Your best bet in this country is still a Jeep.

You can modify it to exactly what you want for less than a Defender off the lot. The after market parts selection is an order of magnitude greater...and generally a good bit cheaper.

Of course if you're living in England it flips 180 degrees.

A Wrangler Rubicon is capable of climbing a near verticle wall! But is an expensive vehicle starting at over $30K. And not the best car as a highway driver.

Defenders, even abused, demand very good money. Same with the Toyota Land Cruiser.
A Toyota Fourunner is a good choice for off road use. Just not as "cool".

So funny thing happened the other day... I got some work done on the headlamps of my S4... see the LEDs below... sexy right? Anyhow...

I had been looking for a B7 S4 with low miles for a couple of years because I wanted the NA V8 and not the new bi-turbo 6... Finally found the car that I wanted and I picked it up this spring with 9300 on the odometer... The carfax checked out and I had an indpendent inspector check it out before I drove out to Iowa City to buy it... All checked out perfect.

Then when I sent my headlamps off to get worked on, the guy doing the work emailed me back and asked if my car had ever been in an accident because the dates on the headlamps don't match each other. I said, "I don't know... I got it with 9300 on the odometer... couldn't tell ya."

So, anyhow that kind of bugged me that it may have been in an accident and the carfax checked out clean... But whatever... likely some fender bender... no big deal. The car pulls hard in all six gears and drives straight as an arrow.

Then on Monday morning I open the car door to let the kids in and I see a piece of paper under the passenger's front seat. The seat is motorized so it's really hard to get anything in or out from under the seat so I figured it was just something that the kids had left in the car.

I bent over and pulled it out and found this:

Hmmm, I think to myself. I've got the name of the previous owner! Maybe I can google her name and accident and audi and see if I can find any public records or report of the accident.

When I did... this is what I found:

Yup... that's my car... LOL
