What Grinds Your Gears?

High School kids, working as cashiers, that have to let the machine tell them how much change to give me for the $5 bill I handed them. This, only after they give me a dirty look for not using my debit card for the $3.18 item that I am purchasing.

Semi's in both the fast and middle lane while someone in their hybrid is going 45 in the slow lane.

Trucks passing trucks...it's an epidemic like babies having babies :shake:

I swear they do it 95% of the time because they are bored...I mean do you really need to take 5 miles to pass a truck going 54 MPH by going 54.5 MPH? :pissed:

The use of the word humbling... How is it humbling to win the NBA MVP? You can stay humble about it, but the accolades themselves are the opposite of "humbling". Athletes seem to lump great achievements with being humbling all the time. Example...

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio - LeBron James was flattered to hear Hall of Famer Jerry West said the 24-year-old has surpassed Kobe Bryant as the league?s best player.
...
"For him to say something like that is humbling.?

Wouldn't it be ego-boosting rather than humbling?

I think it was Doug Worthington who said it was humbling when he got in some trouble. Now THAT use of the word makes sense.

You'll have to forgive him, I doubt that he's felt the need to study the English language much seeing how he's probably the greatest basketball player on planet Earth. He was probably trying to react modestly and misspoke.
