OK, I was on a cruise and read these:

If you believe the books on these two they did a whole lot more steroids than the two players are letting on.

He claims to have only taken "legal stuff/suppliments" and lots of it.

OK books, nothing special.

Both were real interesting. Bevo's story is great. Lou's wasn't that bad. (Believe it or not) He had lots of great things to say about Woody (and Ohio State). He briefly mentions his NCAA violations and says that they were either (done by him by accident) or by one of his assistants without his knowledge, etc.

Two books on Lance Armstrong's 6th Tour De France win (in 2004). The first one "War" was the better of the two. It had more insight to the race. He still claims he did not do steroids/doping and others claim that he did.

Yes, it was a long cruise (35 nights).

Finished this the other night:

Now I'm reading:

0367.jpg

I'm only halfway through this and liking it immensely. After reading months' worth of Sherlock Holmes, Dorian Gray, Dickens, etc. and really immersing myself in 19th-century London, reading about its destruction at the hands of the Martians, especially the way Wells writes it as if it's all very matter-of-fact, is wonderful. Wells builds the drama of the event very well. Unless it just falls apart in the denouement it's going to end up in my top five, all-time.

Anyone here familiar with the writings of H.P. Lovecraft? If so, where would be a good place to start with his works?

I'm looking for something new to read and thought his mythology might be interesting.

Have you ever read anything published by the Library of America? They put out nice collection volumes of great American authors / historical figures, and they have one for Lovecraft that I am considering: H.P. Lovecraft, Tales

I read their first volume of Philip K. Dick novels as well as a couple of others (True Crime anthology, writings of Honest Abe) and think they put out a great product.
