Arkham city was one of the most frustrating games I've ever played, but also one of the most enjoyable. Once you get over getting pissed off at the controls sometimes not picking up, the story is phenomenal as is the gameplay (mostly).

jwinslow, I don't remember ever having to mine in ME1, that was introduced in ME2. Oh, actually never mind, you mean those little pouches of minerals you find all across the galaxy? Yes that was removed, but it was completely optional, whereas mining in ME2 is somewhat mandatory to collect money to improve the ship, which does affect the plot. IMO most of the flaws of ME1 were corrected for the PC version, and I still think it's by far one of the best games of this generation.

As for myself, I am currently trying to get through Deus Ex: HR, but the graphics are honestly just plain bad and the shooting/gameplay is terrible. If combat was smoother, the rpg elements would really be so much more appreciable (my complaint with Oblivion as well). I'm not a stealth guy so some missions can be frustrating. It'll take me a while to really get into the game and want to finish it. I also blew a lot of money on the Steam holiday sale (of course), and now I have the entire Total War series and a bunch of flight simulators. There's this company called Eagle Dyanmics that's come up with a very good simulation of flying the A10 Warthog called DCS: A10C Warthog. If you're interested in those kinds of things, check it out on http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/series/warthog/

Prestiged at Level 80 on MW3 and will probably take it back on Friday and trade it in. I have some other ones to trade it with it.

The only mode I enjoy is Ground War. I'll take a good hard look at BF3, but leaning towards Arkham City. Something with a bit more story.

Having played a lot of BF3 and never playing many fantasy RPG's before playing Skyrim - get Skyrim and play the everloving shit out of it. BF3 at this point, you'll just get crushed. It's an amazing game but people have started to figure it out and spam it. If you want something with a story, Skyrim is it. I played Asylum last year and it's amazing, but I have 4x as much time into Skyrim as I put into Asylum and I'm still not done with all the quests. You won't regret playing the reigning game of the year.

JMorb - outside of the story, what are the multiplayer features like for this game? That is to say, if I'm on XBL am I going to run into your character? If the game is so massive as I keep reading, I envision it to be similar to WoW. Am I way off base?

I love the Batman games, Probably pick that one up and knock it out quickly and then hop aboard the Skyrim wagon. Anxious for Bioshock Infinite this Christmas.

There is no online portion of the game. It's all single player. It's a bit like WoW, minus the massively multi-player portion.

CentralMo is right, there is no online portion. You won't go wrong with Batman: AA - it is an amazing game. I didn't play any of the online features, so I'm sure what you'd get there. But you should finish it in a decent amount of time and then clear your entire schedule for Skyrim

Mario + Portal = MariO

http://stabyourself.net/mari0/

Two genre defining games from completely different eras: Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. and Valve's Portal. These two games managed to give Platformers and First-Person Puzzle Games a solid place in the video game world. But what if Nintendo teamed up with Valve and recreated the famous Mario game with Portal gun mechanics?

A complete from scratch recreation of Super Mario Bros. with a focus on perfectly imitating the feel the 1985 classic gave us. Then give Mario a portal gun, add puzzle game mechanics from Portal and there you go. And if that wasn't crazy enough, play 4-player coop, with everyone having their own Portal gun!

Features:
  • Complete recreation of SMB
  • Elements from Portal
  • Portal gun that shoots portals
  • 4-player simultaneaous co-op
  • level editor that was used to create the levels in the game
  • 33 different hats
  • Downloadable Mappacks
  • game modfiiers for extra fun

Finished Mass Effect yesterday and moved on to Mass Effect 2 last night. ME1 was a good story but almost unplayable at points with how far things had come since it's release. Thankfully I could tell as soon as I put in ME2 it was a far better game. I've stayed away from any ME3 spoilers, although I have heard some people were disappointed. I'm just looking to play out the series and have done my best not to ruin that.

True words. Finished last night and I have not interest in dicking around and finding riddler trophies. The game should have been another 2 hours in story/difficulty, I don't want to play it again to unlock new costumes.

Probably pick up old skyrim and then its adios fiance.
