Western Conf Final: Wings-Hawks

You talk about career numbers, I was just talking about the way he matches up against the Wings.

Today proved me correct.

Meant to talk about the last time he played the Wings, too. He's just a hot/cold guy, and he's obviously not the former.

This series was over when they choked away game 2. *shrug* I was done holding out hope then. I'd say good luck in the next round if I didn't hate Detroit with every fiber of my being, and everything else in Michigan for that matter. So, I hope the entire team gets food poisoning and has to play their AHL team in the finals. I'm sure this thread makes Woody sad. :scum4: I know you'll "live with it", but you have no other choice because it's the truth.

To me, this post simply goes too far. I'm OK with Chelios playing in the Finals.

If Chelios gets another cup this year, that would make it 6 (1 with Montreal, 5 with Detroit). That's probably the best for one player since the great Montreal teams of the late 60s and early 70s....surpassing Messier who had 5 between Edmonton and the NYR....I'm sure I'm missing someone though - I can't imagine someone from those Flyers or Islanders teams not winning another cup on another team....

If you are talking about the 2nd to last game of the regular season, that's a joke. The Wings had packed it in while the Blackhawks were still fighting for the 4 seed.

What's the truth here? Sounds like bitterness to me.

He's only got his name on the Cup 3 times - he was still with Chicago when the Wings won two in the 90s. 22 years apart for the first and the last is awfully impressive.

Well Chelios represents one of the biggest traitors in Chicago sports history to a lot of Chicago fans. Just a few days before his trade to Detroit he was talking about exactly how much he hated Detroit and would NEVER play for them. Then he waives his no trade clause to go there.

No one appreciated when he brought his Detroit-won Cup to Wrigley with him. Whatever he thought, it wasn't a good thought. You're FROM CHICAGO, you should know if you got it in Detroit, we don't like it. Don't come parading it around here in our faces. We didn't forget 1995 and we won't forget 2009. It's a rivalry, Chris, and you help fuel our hatred.

So, I wish food poisoning on the Wings because I want them all to recover but I forgot about Chelios, who I guess could get something more severe.

As for bitter, Woody never spent a penny in Detroit, you really think he would appreciate this? I said it at the start of the series, WELL before I was bitter--don't hide from the truth :).

I'm sure it's lost on you that I followed the Wings long before I knew college sports in general and college football in particular even existed.

I am more amused by the fact coach Quenville thinks it was all the ref's fault including "the worst call of all time" rather then admitting his team wasn't ready to play and that was his fault.

That is kinda funny but it was obvious when he lost his composure at the beginning of the 2nd period his team was done.

Just because it was 2-0 Detroit didn't mean Chicago was out of the game by far. They still had Detroit without Dats, Lids and Draper. While Detroit had a Power play it isn't as if they had been lighting the world up at that point.

Quenneville lost it just like last year with Colorado and like all of those times in St. Louis. Scotty Bowman is probably beside himself after seeing that loser act in that way.
