Speaking of how hard reffing is in real-time, the refs didn’t show at my youngest’s JH soccer match a week ago. We would forfeit unless we had refs, so another parent and I volunteered. As we were walking to the field level gate from the stands, I said “I’ll take the far sideline, the parents can yell at you.”

It is incredibly difficult to make those real-time decisions when there are so many bodies in your periphery at field level. Respect to all refs who suffer the abuse.

Will have to look into this, but I think 1965 Michigan State Spartans held Ohio State to something like -4 yards rushing. Just looked. Ohio state -24 yards rushing.
