Wearing jerseys to games: yes or no?

Should grown men (out of college) wear team jerseys?

  • Why not? It's perfectly normal game attire.

I own a jersey and I wear it sometimes but not every game. Part of the problem is that It was a Christmas gift and is a Feista bowl jersey, and I'll let you guess as to what number it is. That being said people should wear what ever they want to support their team. What does drive me nuts is people that show up to OSU games with absolutly no osu gear on at all, or for other schools that aren't evening playing that day.

I'm with ya Ruggers, which is why my 7 doesn't have Germaine's name on it (when I got it) Or "Ross" or "Crooks" or "Gamble" nor Tedward.

I got my 8 (Bellasari) when I wanted a 2 (Doss) - B-day gift gone awry. It's cool tho, I always thought Jeff Cothran was a decent fella, and I like Roy Hall... Hell, I even think Bellasari wasn't as bad as everybody made him out to be.... plus, I used to work with a cousin of his.

This thread makes me nervous. My scarlet and gray striped rugby shirt with the block O and buckeye leaves gave up the ghost two years ago and you can't find them anywhere. So I decided it was time to get a real game jersey. I wanted to get both home and away and I wanted the number 67 with a name block across the back shoulders that read "Class of." That way I wasn't making like I thought I was Archie or Katzenmoyer, but was celebrating my beloved Buckeyes and my class at OSU.

Finally found a place that could do it for something like 85 bucks a piece, but they were wiped out of blank jerseys by the Texas game madness and wouldn't have more in until next July.

Now I'm faced with the prospect of being a dork... or worse...

Oh well. dork or not, I think I'm going through with it. Why should kids have all the fun?

Fashionistas. :p

Anyone who spends time worrying about what others think of the game-day outfit is seriously unfocused. These people should be smacked upside the head with one of those stadium-for-a-hat thingies and made to yell "O-H!" until their vocal cords bleed.

Don't dress for show, dress for a win. Whatever gives the karma a kick...

Wear whatever the hell you want to!

BKB, don't worry. How many chicks have you ever wanted to drill, then said, "No, I don't like her outfit."

Dressing is not your problem, it's your fifth nipple and the extra testicle growing off of your chin.

there are a lot bigger problems with people at games, like those who berate our players every time a play isn't great, or those who refuse to stand and cheer and are physically able to do so. Lots of people in this thread sure have given a lot of thought to someone wearing a jersey of their favorite team. I wear #7 not for Teddy, but to honor the tradition of #7's that OSU has developed, Ginn, Gamble, Galloway, Germaine, Greene, etc.

I suppose as long as you're not acting like these guys, it's alright.

I'm on the fence with this topic. I bought my first jersey (#2 jersey) before the 2002 season and I wore it to every game and OSU won it all. This year I bought a very nice Spielman jersey and I have only worn it once (Texas game) as I kind of felt like a tool in it. Maybe I am just getting older and it is kind of strange to see grown up adults wearing these kid's jerseys. That's just my personal opinion, I don't have a problem with anyone else wearing one though.
