I could care less if tOSU is in the playoff at this point. I'd honestly be fine with playing the loser of the SEC CCG in the Fiesta Bowl. Give the Rose Bowl to the loser of the B1G CCG. I just hope the committee doesn't try and play Houston against tOSU. Too much to lose and nothing to gain from that pairing

Fortunately now the Pac 12 championship isn't at the school, but neutral site. Probably will be 70% Stanford (location is their backyard and they have more riding on it makes me think their fans will go out more for it), but it is better than being 95% Stanford fans.

Here's the best part of all of this. Let's say chalk wins out and we don't get a chance to play in the playoff.

1. Clemson #2 Michigan State #3 Bama #4 Oklahoma

If Stanford wins the Pac-12, I almost guarantee we're looking at a Stanford/Buckeye Rose Bowl.

That's one hell of a "consolation" game and could really make a big statement for both programs.

LOL Stanford. The BiG has already proven that Stanford is a wannabe and can't beat BiG teams because they try to beat us at the game we freakin invented! No way they are better than us and it will certainly show if they are unlucky enough to have to find out.

Yeah I admit I've never thought about USC and Stanford already playing... them winning AGAIN says nothing about stanford.

I feel quite good that if UNC wins we will be in there. And if not fuck them we will crush who ever we play next. I will say this though if they give us another shot at this thing I don't see us losing to anyone else this season. How do you not put the highest profitable school and the defending national champions in if you have a chance?

In order to be the best many schools want to go through the best. I say give them all a shot to win it the way it should be. That would not mean putting the champs on the outside by 1 spot.

I know the committee emphasized the Conference Champ aspect last year, but to me, that felt more like a tie-breaker between 3 1-loss teams than the critical factor.

I just don't see them putting a 2-loss team over a 1-loss team, even if the 1-loss team isn't a conference champ. It's punishing a team for playing in a tough division, which makes no sense to me.

Every year is different... last year it was the one loss teams as you've described and this year let's say UNC wins. If UNC AND MSU wins that means the committee will be deciding between UNC, Iowa, Clemson, MSU, Alabama, MSU, and OSU to fill four spots.

Ain't no room for a 2 loss stanford in that scenario whatsoever. I'd think Alabama would be 1, MSU 2, Oklahoma 3, and OSU 4.

I don't think you worry about Clemson staying in the top 4 because they'll be forced to drop them below UNC due to UNC showing they're the better team.

5. UNC 6. Stanford and 7. Clemson

The goal is to get the most capable 4 teams at the end. This isn't the BCS and last year we proved with HOW we won that we were a better selection than TCU. You have to also believe the weight that osu brings to the playoffs certainly helped us pass TCU and Baylor. They didn't have to have us jump those teams last year and IMO it was just as much of our name that got us in then it was with how badly we beat wisconsin.
