Dealers really are ridiculous. I put down a deposit for my Tudor and was told it'd arrive in a few weeks. A few weeks later, I called and told them I wanted a refund and that I didn't want the watch. Was told that the person who processes refunds was not available and that they would call back later. Later that same day, the dealer called and said my watch arrived and I could pick up that night. Considering that it was some random weekday and the chances of it arriving the same day are basically 0.01%, the dealer had those watches in stock and are playing games with who gets them. Surprised Rolex doesn't just jack the price of each of their steel watches to approximately $12,000 and sell direct online from their website instead of going through dealers.

Who knows. There's something odd clearly afoot, and since they're a privately held trust under some weird Swiss laws, they answer to absolutely nobody.

Looks like they make it in "asshole" though. On a serious note, that's my orange beater, and it's a great cheap watch for no more than you're going to spend for some made in China quartz watch at a mall kiosk.

I thought it was cool as fuck. Honestly, I haven't worn a rotating bezel watch in awhile, but I always found them handy in the kitchen to keep a "rough idea" cook time on stuff if I have multiple things going at once among other things. (How long have I been fishing at this spot?) Shit like that.

The asshole version is the maize and blue one that I linked. I love my Orange Monster version, the pic of which has now disappeared. I've been timing it off the NIST clock, and it's running within 10 seconds a day of perfect. Not the 1.5 to 2 that the Omega keeps, but still better than the 40-50 that Seiko advertises for that movement.

Would like a stainless steel band.

Having just bought a Seiko 5 (not sure if you can see the pic or not), the bracelet is one of the areas in which Seiko cuts corners to make the watches so affordable. And when mine showed up, I could definitely feel that. Now, I'm comparing it to the bracelet on an Omega, so it might be an unfair comparison. Still, I took the bracelet off in exchange for a rubber strap and also got a couple of NATO straps for it.

In any event, here's one that approximates the Omega Aqua Terra that I posted above. Valentines weekend sale for $80!

If you want the diver's watch with the bezel, AKAK just linked one.

On that specific watch, I'd pass. It looks nice, but at its heart, it's a cheap, quartz, Chinese sweatshop made "fashion watch." A Daniel Wellington wanna-be. For the same money, or cheaper, the Seiko 5s that @AKAK and I showed you will give you a real, mechanical watch from a reputable company that will last for years. There's nothing "watch snobby" about choosing quality at any price point. I own an Omega and a TAG and have still been wearing the Orange monster a couple of days out of the week.

This, and I guess my initial response was more, you can pay a lot less for a quartz fashion watch, the flip side is obviously the road we ended up going down with the Seikos. I mean, the functionality here is telling time, and one thing about mechanicals is they're actually not perfect (nor do they need batteries) so you do get to interact with them a bit more and it's pretty fun.

Obviously the other thing is, in this day and age, if the functionality is more than telling time or you have a real need for extreme precision, $200 bucks can buy you (or is a big chunk of change toward) a very capable wearable. I'm not advocating that at all, it's just hard to see where that vincero really fits functionality wise at that price point.
