I've revived an old scout ID for me awaiting to get approved. Heck, I just want to go over there and actually just talk with them now.

I am actually starting to feel sorry for them. :sad2: They just don't know how to deal with recruiting battles like we do. Our epic football recruiting battles really have taught us how to deal with this, they just have no clue.

HLYNN posts this:

The link is an AOL story on Mo Clarett telling the media (espin) to piss off about the allegations he made earlier about improper benefits.

and then there is this jewel: :roll2:

Re: Oden visits Indiana (unofficially)
Posted: 5/20/05 12:06:27 pm bertt, go back and read what Greg has said. Over and over, he has put IU at the top of his list. He did it twice on ESPN alone. If you look at how he described the schools, IU is the most positive.

The numerous times Greg has spoken about the difficulties of creating "package deals", if he goes to college, is also a reference to IU as it is the only school where this isn't possible.

If he goes to college (only an age limit will make this so), Greg's comments make the pecking order:

1. IU
2. Wake
3. OSU

then theres this lovely exchange :roll2:

Posted: 5/23/05 9:33:19 am One has to think that this conversation with Mike Davis could actually help Wake's chances, if Oden does attend college. Coach Davis knows who he is recruiting against and there are a lot more negative things that can be said about Ohio State, the apparent leader. In any event, the chances of him attending Indiana are very slim and it cannot hurt for Oden to hear another voice expressing concern about the current state of OSU's program.

Re: Oden visits Indiana (unofficially)
Posted: 5/23/05 9:42:37 am I don't think Davis (or any recruiter) would talk negative about another program. Its always much better to build your own program up. If a kid has true interest in another program, and you talk negative about that program, you are more than likely going to turn him off your own.

Re: Oden visits Indiana (unofficially)
Posted: 5/23/05 9:44:18 am I agree that its much better to focus on the positives of your own program and not use dirty tactics, but that being said, please ask Conley and Oden what Matta has had to say about Prosser. Edited by: DemonDeac98 at: 5/23/05 9:47:41 am

Oden's IU visit unofficial for now
clear.gif

By Jeff Rabjohns
[email protected]
Greg Oden, the most coveted high school basketball recruit in the country, took an unofficial visit to Indiana University on Thursday evening to meet with Hoosiers coach Mike Davis.
I'm just going down for the night," Oden said as he and his coach at Lawrence North High School, Jack Keefer, made the drive to Bloomington. "I've still got my options open. I'm just coming down here, seeing what another college is like."

A high school player is allowed five official visits, and Oden has taken two, to Wake Forest and Ohio State.
"I think this might be the last one," he said.

The other schools on his final four list are IU and Michigan State.

The 7-foot junior center could extend this visit to the weekend and make it an official visit, or he could take another one later.

Oden is familiar with the IU campus. He's attended Midnight Madness and some practices and games at Assembly Hall.

He said he hasn't had any extensive conversations with Davis.

"We talk when I see him. I haven't talked to him on the phone," Oden said. "I know him just like any other coach, but he's a good guy."College coaches are prohibited by NCAA rules from commenting about players they are recruiting.
I take it this is the article to which these tools are referring. Perhaps rjkarl ought to go read the article again, because his comments are a bit off-base with what's contained in the article.

Wake fans, I sure hope you are still reading this thread, b/c you guys are the most pathetic fans I've ever run across. Could you sound whinier to continue to claim that it was 100% about the players and 0% about the coaching in those tourneys with matta? I suppose we should write off Coach K's talents b/c he has some of the best players right? No, but I'm sure you'd make the same whines about him as you seem to do about any school that might have one leg up on you. You guys provide an endless supply of bitter immature posts for comic relief. For that I applaud you.

As for the reason for this rant, check out these gems (posts like littering your board is what started the whole feud with OSU anyway):
wigmon: I think he pretty much just said Prosser sucks, so that's why Conley and Oden listed OSU as #1.
TheFish... - Matta ought to say Prosser left him with a cabinet full of Chalmers, Sato and West and basically got him the promotion to O$U.
doggus - Knowing Prosser's style, he probably makes the point without actually saying it directly. For example, by saying that Wake has no outstanding allegations, there is an unstated comparison with OSU. These recruit/families are smart enough to get it. (that's still called badmouthing a program genius)
It's likely a similar approach to the way he creatively "bad mouthed" (also known as whining wakefags) the refs for unfair foul calls after the Duke game.

I agree it's a bad poll, I just thought it was humorous that they managed to rile themselves up without any outside help.

They still have lots of people who "just have a feeling" that Oden's gonna be a deacon.

no idiot, Oden is going pro, Conley is going to be a Deac and that jerk Cook who went behind their backs and went to O$U will be stuck in the Big Ten where their fans don't know anything about basketball.

please. it's painfully obvious once oden goes pro and conley goes to wake, cook will decommit and join his friend as a Deac.

morons. Oden is scared of the NBA. He, Conley, and Cook are all going to Wake and Kevin Garnett is going to retire and sue the NCAA to regain his college eligibility so he can play with them at WFU
