OK, you hut-hut coaches out there, coach me up... why can't someone like Vince be turned into a receiver or slot back? It can't be that difficult if Desmond Howard can figure out how to play the position. Too much talent and speed going to waste in my opinion, but then I was a track coach.

Because in the NFL the athletes will destroy him in space. He won't run past
CB's or safeties and he'll never create seperation from being a piss- poor route runner. Plus I'm sure he doesn't have natural hands for catching. His work ethic is questionable and he clearly has issues reading coverage as a QB. No reason to think he won't struggle equally being on the same page as a WR/QB combo.

Then how did Desmond Howard manage to last 10 years in the pros? Granted that Randel El was a bit smarter, but he was nowhere near the size of Young and yet he's had an excellent career after making the transition from QB to WR/SBack. Were both willing to work where Young isn't, is Vince unwilling to make the change? Anybody know?

Young's size isn't an advantage in this case. He still isn't as fluid in space, doesn't have the acceleration of the previous two athlete's you've mentioned.

And as a Sback you expect that individual to be elusive at the NFL level. Outside of getting away from lineman and a few linebackers... he wouldn't beat a CB, Safety or even a good portion of 3rd down backers.

It just isn't in the cards. Between the work ethic, and physical characteristics, I could see TP becoming a WR long before Young.

Oh how i sometimes miss laughing at the biased UT media towards VY in austin. You mustve been listening to the sports buffet or the adams theory for their love and worship of VY. They seem to think he was blackballed for no reason. Have they started to complain about jamarcus russell gettinf another shot and not VY yet?

I think VY's biggest issue is he's just a bit dim. He couldn't catch on in friggin' BUFFALO of all places. BUFFALO. He's not young anymore either. I'd wager a tidy sum that his football career is over unless he's willing to swallow his pride and go to the CFL or Arena league. He's just gonna end up another cautionary tale.
