Vince Young (unemployed)

matt white? matt jones had pretty average success at QB.
Randle-El was 5'10". Zero chance of seeing over an NFL line.

Hawk did a great job against VY. Donte missed a few times, Schlegel had him in his arms and lost him. He broke tackles against future NFL players.

god damnit i always call that bastard matt white for some reason. i dunno why. future nfl players.........look at the rushing stats not very impressive. he got away from us one time i believe. young would get dominated by NFL starting LB's anyway you look at it.

How do you know he doesn't manage a game like Big Ben? Texas is blowing people out left and right. And why do people think that Big Ben is this great game Manager... he makes big plays... and the Steelers run the ball... big deal.

Second... Young won't be able to run like he does in the NFL... there won't be Michigan Defensese to face... as long as he knows when to run, he'll be fine...

Why do you think Young can't throw as well as Culpepper... the Vikings are winning without him now... maybe in spite of him before.... (Similarly, How good does Big Ben look in SF?)

Point is... much like earlier points... that he will be fine if he gets the right people around him.

Some how this got turned around here, I have been backing Young, I was just saying that he doesnt manage a game like Big Ben. For a rookie to win his first 14 or whatever number of games is very impressive to me, and it wasnt like he was making huge plays he was managing the game enough for his team to win.

And Culpepper has proven that he can throw, that is how I know.

I think Big Ben would look decent in San Fran probably lead them to 6 wins, but not near as good as what he looks in Pittsburg.

I like the post earlier about all the not above avg. qbs that have taken snaps this year. I think he made the point real well that VY will be taking snaps in the NFL.

He had one 30+ yard run. Other than that he averaged 2.4 YPC. I don't think anyone expected him to do much against our D anyway though.

Of course he would. Those are grown men. VY's what, 21?

Yeah, I gotcha... point is, that everyone is trying to say that Young, isn't this guy or that guy, and no one knows.. for example... that he can't manage a game... I agree, Ben can, but you don't know that Vince Can't... Culpepper can throw... but he's looking as much like a product of his system as anyone right now.

(Also, Peyton Manning partially posessed by the Spirit of Johnny Unitas using Dan Marino's arm couldn't have won 6 games in SF last year.)

Well alot has to do with the system, which Is why I think I would take Young over Lienhart b/c Lienhart has been the product of about 3 of the best offensive players in the country on his side, along with seeing absolutely no pressure.

I just think for a lowly talented team in terms of NFL talent Young would be a better pick, b/c he is going to be able to escape pressure and make plays with his feet much like a Michael Vick type QB or Randall Cunningham.

As for the side arm motion thing, I don't care how a player throws the ball as long as he gets the job done. He could bounce the ball off his head, but if he completes it he completes it.

Jeff Bagwell doesnt have a correct stance according to how people say to stand but he gets the job done. Why break something that doesnt need fixin'. It isnt like Young is having balls tipped, so the side arm throw when he throws it isnt a problem, and he has obviously cut down on the INT's.

Not a chance in hell that Young will be a QB in the NFL. His throwing motion and such is just plain awful. Sure he gets lucky and hits a nice pass every so often, but even a broken clock is right twice a day

I see him drafted as a receiver if anything.

I remember watching Kudla wrap his arms around Young and he needed help to get him down. Young had Kudla wrapped around his waste and he was still standing there looking for a receiver. The dude is just plain strong.

Vince Young will be a better NFL QB than Daunte Culpepper. Mark it down.
