That wasn't the question. Your compliant was that you couldn't stream music, with the screen on, with the GPS running and still charge it.BuckeyeMac;2170615; said:My iPhone charges pretty fast while plugged into the cig lighter
Which phone did you have? However, I have my iPhone plugged into the USB on my work CPU (charges very quickly for me) Even when I tried out that android phone, it was still losing battery even while plugged into the same CPU
I'm not sure what you mean. Some phones come with skins, like HTC Sense or Motoblur, but they aren't really intrusive and you can always root the phone and install any flavor of phone you want to use, including ones that will change how your phone performs, including battery life.BuckeyeMac;2170625; said:Yeah I got it.
Are you able to remove all that crap that comes pre installed on the phones easily yet?

I've never installed a custom rom and been very happy with my android phones. I'll probably get around to it this time, but HTC makes great phones (my droid incredible), and the Galaxy Nexus is a welcome change from the buggy Samsung phones of a few years ago.If you want something simple, get an iphone. If having to install custom roms you don't want to do, don't get an android phone.
Same here. If I have the screen on, browse the web with the GPS on, then I usually break even if it is plugged in.I was streaming music the other day (not over wifi) at work and had no problems with my battery not losing a charge. And this is on a phone that's 2 years old.

Are you able to do those things with the iphone and still have it charging? Considering Apple just debuted turn by turn functionality, I'm guessing you didn't.
Android phones charge quite quickly when they aren't using every battery chewing feature at once (well, I guess bluetooth wasn't on).
Which phone did you have?
and did you turn off the gps when you stopped using google maps?

Example: most of the different UI's have special features (think Samsung's Siri like feature) that devs port to other devices or incorporate into their custom roms. I'll second the installing a custom rom and improving battery life.

I'd really like to know what Mac was doing to have his battery drain while it was plugged into his pc. I was streaming music the other day (not over wifi) at work and had no problems with my battery not losing a charge. And this is on a phone that's 2 years old.

Didn't they just now push ICS to devices?
CentralMOBuck;2173129; said:If you wait for the official JB release, it won't be here till Q4. There's already custom roms in the works.
I can't decide if I want to get the Galaxy Nexus or Galaxy S 3 on AT&T. The main reason I'd want a GN is because I wouldn't be locked into a contract.
