Verizon & Android news

My Motorola/Android phone recently updated on its own and now it shuts down on its own all the time and right in the middle of things. On top of that sometimes it just freezes....

Good shit right there.....:bonk:

That's part the reason I hated Android. Although it had some cool features, overall compared to iOS, it's unstable. The worst I've have happen to my iPhone is an app crashing.

I've only used the cases that OtterBox makes for my Nexus One. I had two [ame="http://www.amazon.com/OtterBox-77-21386-Commuter-Pack-Carrying-Case-Retail/dp/B0085JRQIM/ref=sr_1_6?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1340551326&sr=1-6&keywords=otterbox+galaxy+s3"]commuter series cases[/ame] break within a couple of months of purchase and I've had a [ame="http://www.amazon.com/OtterBox-77-21384-Defender-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B0085JRQG4/ref=sr_1_11?m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1340551326&sr=1-11&keywords=otterbox+galaxy+s3"]defender series[/ame] case that is solid. I'd really like to find a case made like the defender series that also has a kickstand (or just purchase a desktop dock).

Edit: links or to galaxy s3 versions

I have an ottetbox for my X..like them but just too expensive and too bulky

Agreed. But I'd rather pay a little extra for something I know is going to protect my phone.

I can't decide if I just want to throw down $400 for a Galaxy Nexus or sign a two year contract w/ AT&T and get a GS3. I'm going to wait about a month and see what people say about the GS3 I think.

I'm looking at Androids (not saying I am going to switch from iPhone)...are there ANY android phones that have good battery life? Jeez it looks like they all suck in reviews. That's my biggest gripe with the one I tried. I had it playing music and running google maps while hooked into my Jeeps cig lighter to charge, and it still would lose juice.

Ive been reading the S3 has good battery life..

my Droid X had pretty good life...If I didn't use it much I could easily go 2 whole days without it dying..

not sure how the Razr is..

overall, DO IT, come join us to the better phones

Which carrier you have, ATT?

My battery life on my Droid Incredible was a lot worse than my Galaxy Nexus. ICS (the new OS) really helps.

The biggest thing is if you feel like using your phone non stop and draining the battery, you can pop in a backup battery, unlike the iphone. Just make sure it has a removeable battery (droid razr does not IIRC)

Is this not the case for your iPhone? Streaming music (data) while having the screen on non-stop while using GPS is not a recipe for charging a mobile device.

My iPhone charges pretty fast while plugged into the cig lighter

I do use it very heavily during the day at work  checking email, twitter, BP, etc.

However, I have my iPhone plugged into the USB on my work CPU (charges very quickly for me) Even when I tried out that android phone, it was still losing battery even while plugged into the same CPU

Most cigarette lighter's aren't good for charging phones to begin with. They don't provide the same charge rate as what your phone being plugged into a wall outlet or your pc with a usb cord.

If your looking for a good/cheap car charging combo or need a usb cable, check out monoprice. Shipping is a bit expensive, but it's still cheaper than most other places. I recently bought a couple of usb cables so that I could have one for at work, in my car and one at home.

6ft Micro USB: $0.68
USB Car Charger: $4.05
