a lot of arrest are happening out there with no more action of charging of these kids one could draw one of two conclusions...

Obviously those other incidents should have no bearing on this story
So this little nugget applies at USC, yet any little thing that has happened at tOSU the past three years, ESPN has reveled in pointing each and every one of them out and how "dirty" a program Tressel runs. Riiiiight.

I've known Sanchez and his family since his senior year of high school.

Feldman seems like he's trying to say he's known them a long time. Sanchez was a senior in high school a year ago, so it's not like he's a long-time friend of the family.

In fairness to Bruce Feldman, he's one of the few writers regarding any sport employed at ESPN that has a clue.

Maybe he didn't actually rape the girl, he was just doing research for the rape awareness workshop?

USC quarterback Mark Sanchez's arrest came only hours after he attended an on-campus workshop for USC athletes about rape awareness. Sanchez has been placed on "interim suspension" by USC, meaning he cannot attend class or participate in other student activities until the university reviews the situation further. Spring semester classes conclude today and final exams are May 3-10, which means Sanchez's academic eligibility to play football in the fall could be jeopardized. However, a source close to the football program said Thursday that students suspended so close to the conclusion of their courses are likely to be allowed to complete work and take finals.

I don't know the particulars of the charges against him and don't want to minimize the severity of rape or cast aspersions on his accuser. However, Sanchez has not been convicted of anything. What if it turned out that he was not guilty? Surely they can allow him to sit the examination in an alternative venue.
