I don't think they would be able to start a second round today off of both tees because I don't think they would have enough time to replace the pins on the back 9 but I am still somewhat
I know the pins could be moved in short order but wouldn't the greens have to be rolled to make everything equal for all the golfers. There must be some reason they are not starting the second round today or maybe they are starting to guys who went off later this afternoon. Don't know. Doesn't make sense.fourteenandoh;1485456; said:they can move the pins in 5 minutes

because the second round will start at four, they won't be able to finish today, and alot of tee times have beem pushed back about a half day. thats why he wont be finishing his round today

No. Tiger will not start his second round until tomorrow. Some guys that finish this afternoon will start their second rounds immediately. I guess the thing that confused me was I thought that they were going off from both the 1st and 10th tee but they must have changed that due to the weather.jmorbitz;1485464; said:what's going to happen is that the players finishing their first rounds today, the afternoon group from thursday, will start their morning round for what would have been today if play had not been suspended. because tiger played in the morning group on thursday, he would be playing the afternoon group today, had it gone to plan. this is to prevent the thursday morning players from playing what would be three straight early morning rounds.

BigWoof31;1484816; said:hmmm - bad weather at the US open requires tremendous short game play and strong driving. Missing the greens will require someone who can stop his ball on the dime and play strong out of the bunkers. I wonder who could take advantage of these situations?

sorry. This comment confused me regarding Tiger.fourteenandoh;1485486; said:isn't that what he said? yesterday's afternoon wave will finish around 4 today and will go right back out. they will get about 9 holes in. they will come back tomorrow morning and play the rest of their round, and then friday's afternoon group will tee off for their second round around 10am tomorrow. correct?
basically, the guys on the course right now will play 27 today and 27 tomorrow (if it goes as planned, tomorrow is supposed to be awful).
I understand now and thanks to you guys who straighten me out.thats why he wont be finishing his round today
I guess I don't understand why he would say that about the Memorial because if he really believed the course was too hard why would he play in any Majors. They don't play those on putt putt.Steve19;1485485; said:Especially after his chicken-[censored] refusal to play The Memorial "because the course is too hard", I'd rather see Darth Vader win.
