Ely lineman picks Gators

Pompano Beach · Florida hasn't settled on a football coach, but that didn't deter one of Broward County's top recruits from choosing the Gators.
Ely offensive lineman Ronnie Wilson Jr. said Wednesday he plans to enroll at UF early in January.
"You have to pick where you feel most comfortable, and that's where I feel most comfortable," said Wilson, who called his decision "firm," though oral commitments are non-binding.
Wilson was a first-team All-County selection last year. His senior season ended because of a foot injury at practice before the sixth game.
Wilson, a 6-foot-4, 330-pounder who also played defensive line for the Tigers, took an official visit to Florida on Oct. 9. He also visited Ohio State, North Carolina State and Pittsburgh.
The Gators' coaching situation wasn't a factor in his decision, Wilson said, and added that he's encouraged by the prospect of a new staff.
"When another coach comes in, that opens up all the positions and you have to earn your position," Wilson said.
Such a fantastic family. I'm really glad you got to stay close to one another. I know you have to be proud. :)Taz said:This is Mama Taz.
