Thank you for the update Mama Taz!

Congratulations on making your committment Taz! You're a great kid and will be a great player at UF. You have now given me a reason to root for UF whenever they're playing. I can only hope my Steelers draft you in 3 or 4 years! Best of luck to you.

Ely lineman picks Gators

Pompano Beach · Florida hasn't settled on a football coach, but that didn't deter one of Broward County's top recruits from choosing the Gators.

Ely offensive lineman Ronnie Wilson Jr. said Wednesday he plans to enroll at UF early in January.

"You have to pick where you feel most comfortable, and that's where I feel most comfortable," said Wilson, who called his decision "firm," though oral commitments are non-binding.

Wilson was a first-team All-County selection last year. His senior season ended because of a foot injury at practice before the sixth game.

Wilson, a 6-foot-4, 330-pounder who also played defensive line for the Tigers, took an official visit to Florida on Oct. 9. He also visited Ohio State, North Carolina State and Pittsburgh.

The Gators' coaching situation wasn't a factor in his decision, Wilson said, and added that he's encouraged by the prospect of a new staff.

"When another coach comes in, that opens up all the positions and you have to earn your position," Wilson said.

This is Mama Taz.
Thank you all for your kind comments. Taz has finally committed to Florida which makes me happy he's closer to home. All of you have been so nice to our son.
The only words I can say is THANK YOU from my heart.
We wish you all the happiest of holidays. We will keep in touch.

THIS IS MAMA TAZ AND I APPROVE THIS MESSAGE! :)
Such a fantastic family. I'm really glad you got to stay close to one another. I know you have to be proud. :)

We sure would've liked a quality young man like him on our side, but I can't help but be happy that Taz was able to make a decision and get the weight off his shoulders. We wish the best for your entire family.

Thank you all for letting us be a small part of this. Happy Holidays and God bless! :)

Congratulations Taz! Great choice for you and your family.

Whenever you get the chance, please knock the snot out of any 'Canes your Gators may play. You'll be able to hear the cheering from Columbus all the way down there.

Good luck young man.

My heart is broken again yet by another Florida chic...I mean Mama.
Good luck Taz, may be Chris Leak will win the Heisman next year with a great OL protecting him. Or may be C. Fason will win it with you pancaking the way! Keep us in form of you development...may be we will play each other in a BCS bowl soon.

Go Bucks!
