UF OL Ronnie "Taz" Wilson (official thread)

Taz,
It's been a pleasure to have you on the board. I really really (really really really) wish things would've worked out differently, but you are at a fantastic place. Enjoy it! I know in a couple years we are going to be bitching about what could've been when we see you tear up some SEC linemen. Take care Taz and good luck!

Well things didn't work out with OSU so it was time for me to move on and apprently everyone knows i'm going to Florida.I just want to take this time and thank anyone who ever look or responded to this thread because that meant that you wanted to get to know me or something about me.I am really greatful for that because that makes me realize that I really am a good person and that I'm doing something right in my life. And for you people to say the things you all have said with out even being around me for 1 whole day makes me proud to be who I am. So with that being said I appreciate you ALL for all the support.

Taz,

I'm really sorry we missed out on you, but am glad you are going to a good program. You are definitely a classy kid. Make sure you keep that head on straight and tell your parents they did a superb job.

Ronnie, I remember how exciting it was when Meyer went to Utah... and the radio commercials with the monster-truck-type voice talking about a "fast break on turf..." Meyer's a good guy, and I think you're going to like playing for him.

Have you had much chance to meet the other recruits yet? Hope you enjoy working with all of them. No doubt you'll be busy, but I hope we see you around here regularly - on study breaks and such... You're allowed to posts on other threads, too, you know. :p

Taz,

Keep your head on straight, hit the books, and kick some ass on the football field. It's easy to get lost in the shuffle your freshman year.

If the Bucks play the Gators in a bowl game, you're gonna have a huge cheering section pulling for ya.

And remember, no matter what Taurean Charles tells you, throwing a half-full keg on a frat boy is usually frowned upon.

Hello guys just wanted to let you all know that coach Myers came to my home last night and I really enjoyed talking with him. After that meeting last night I'm sure we will get along just fine.
That's awesome Taz, I'm sure UF will be instantly improved as a result of hiring Meyer, he is a young guy with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. I'm sure you'll be really happy there. It's bittersweet for me, because I'm really glad that you are happy...but I wish I had a better chance to follow your career. You've been a total class act, and I am thrilled to see you keeping in touch even after your commitment to Florida. I'm sure years down the line, we will be telling our kids about "The one that got away".

Kick some 'Cane and 'Nole butt in Florida! The Gators will always be #2 to the Buckeyes in my book while you are there. Good Luck!

I was over on the Canes board and they were kind of lamenting the fact that Miami didn't offer Wilson.

One poster said that one of the reasons the Canes didn't offer was that Ronnie was pretty adamant about getting meaningful playing time as a freshman. I was wondering if there was any truth to this.

Anyone think that might have anything to do with the Buckeyes cooling on him? I mean, it doesn't look like anyone outside of Alex Boone will be able to crack the lineup with players like Person and Mitchum in the wings. Alex Boone might crack the lineup as a frosh, but the line is pretty stocked for next season.

Earlier in the thread Taz said "I will be a buckeye..."
So it's obvious it wasn't anything on his part about not wanting to come here (IE playing time). It was likely a decision on OSU's part... :(
