UF OL Ronnie "Taz" Wilson (official thread)

I thought the same thing while reading his post. The reference to the sun setting is what bothers me the most. It's almost like HH is saying just forget about it ya know?
It sounded like he is tired of having to explain the situation to the websites. That is the second or third time he has come back and try to clear the air as to what the ststus of the offer is.
I think he is pissed at MR BN also. He just cut and pasted his responce from BN over here. That is the reason for the edgy tone of his post IMO.

Here's a copy of Ronnie's offer, just for those who were wondering. We'll see what happens, sadly. I have a hard time believing they'd schedule an official with him for the biggest game of the year if he wasn't in their plans. Here's hoping...

Edit: Image forthcoming, it didn't post right.

I am hoping against hope that Taz gets the (re)offer. It is not clear to me when the original offer went limp, so to speak. It's one thing if it was good until October and then got pulled back. If that is the case, then it is on Taz to the extent he had his shot. But if the offer never, really was a no striongs attached offer and Taz wanted to commit in September, it's hard to lay the "you snooze, you lose" rap on him.

IIRC Taz wants to enroll early in the winter quarter and was planning on announcing the first full week in December. That may be the real deathknell to his chances with OSU. SImply put, what is going to change in one week's time? I do question why the staff brought him up here for an official if they weren't going to re-affirm the offer. If Ronnie knew that beforehand, OK - he get's a fre trip to watch The Game. But if he didn't, that is real close to jerking the kid around, IMO.

If the recruitment of Duke Robinson is legit then it doesn't bode well for TAZ going to OSU. I would interpret that to mean they would in fact take 4OL and they don't have TAZ rated as high or they would have accepted his verbal.

If someone could confirm OSU is not actively recruiting DR then the "3OL is the max" is legit......but then again there might be a shot that a slot opens up for TAZ in the end if he still wants it....

Best of luck TAZ.

In life we are often forced to take detours or choose a path that isn't to our liking. Often times, that path can become the best thing that can happen to a person. I think it's obvious that we all hope your path leads to Ohio State. I think it's obvious we can't imagine a path that leads you away from OSU could be "the best thing that could happen" to you. Where ever your path leads know that a lot of Buckeyes with be with you and rooting for your success.

You have handled yourself with honesty, dignity, honor and class ... and that is the measure of success at any age.

There was an insiders article on Duke today and there was absolutely no mention of tOSU and he already has his teams set up he wants to visit and the others that he might.

Also is there any chance for Taz to play on the defensive side of the ball.

Taz could be a DT like Gabe Watson at scUM,maybe. D. Wothington commented last week that he may be too big for DE. He said he's now 6'7.5 and 275lbs and still growing, and that he might end up at guard.

6'8" is not at all too big for DE (remember Dallas' all-pro "Too Tall" Jones?). In reality, the taller he gets the better, as long as he keeps his quickness and speed. A 6'8" or 6'9", 290-300 lb DE with speed coming off the corner could wreak absolute havoc on an offense.

No kidding. Think Jevon Kearse.

Man, those offers are cool. I would have accepted it the same day. With the problems that OSU has had with the offensive line play in the last few years (although they are getting better), I would take as many Taz's as possible.

It is out of our hands Buckeye fans. No matter where Taz ends up, he is going to have a sh!t load of Buckeye love. You have HH in your corner and your dad sounds quality as well.

I'm of the opinion that OSU will eventually make the scholarship available to "TAZ". Why else would they bring him up for the "official" visit. They wanted him, he visited, now it's just a matter of time, scholarships open up every year just before signing day....someone will change their mind, someone will go pro, someone will flunk out, someone will be injured.......It happens every year and will happen again this year.....now....will it happen in time for "TAZ" to enroll in January???maybe....but it will happen before signing day and allow "TAZ" to enroll for spring ball....
