UF OL Ronnie "Taz" Wilson (official thread)

LloydSev said:
why did you include fred davis in that list? he had no intention on being a buckeye.
Agreed, Fred did commit to usc before signing day but IIRC he was actually set up to announce for tOSU and one poin but Petey gave him a phone call the day before and must've convinced him to come to usc to be miserable and a 4th string tight end

hey I understand the numbers game but DR isn't going to become a buckeye and we have a guy in taz that wants to be . You are only as good as your're word and if osu gave its word and from the post above it did then shame on osu. The way we move players around to other postions I don't see the big deal in bringing taz in and possibly moving him or some other ol to dl. If he was good enough to offer in June then hes freaking good enough to have as a buckeye.

There is an update on Rivals about Taz. In the article he says he's down to 2 or 3 schools and the Buckeyes sadly aren't one of them.

Best of luck to you Taz wherever you end up. I sure was hoping it would be in Columbus. You'll always have plenty of fans in Ohio.

"Nope, he counts towards the 2005 class even if he enrolls in January."

That is incorrect. Under NCAA bylaws OSU would have the option of counting him in the 2004 class or the 2005 class. The only limitation is that the maximum class size (25) cannot be exceeded when counting the early enroller. IIRC, OSU had less than 25 in the 2004 class, so that would be an option.

well, from the sound of it...looks like Taz is looking elsewhere....its hard to really say what happened in this case without knowing the details, but their is a positive to all of this and thats the fact Taz still has time to look at another school that fits him.

Best of Luck.

Go Bucks!

Well, Osu didn't accept a commit.
That's better than accepting two commits and then changing your mind before National Letter Signing Day. Or Going through February with a kid and then not letting him into school when the fall roles around.
BuckNut and Conley mention Taz on the Radio Hour this week. Pretty much say that the numbers weren't there for someone that had an offer.
