Well Alabama doesnt even have a rival as far as talent goes in the SEC west, and outside of UGA, pickings are slim so they will mainly get the benefit ofthe doubt. Especially since they always finish no lower than 3 in recruting. Bama deserves the benefit, they have rarely lost to teams that they should beat either, and in big OOC games, regardless if their truly on neutral fields, they embarrass teams. Meyer got very comfortable with JT, and you dont see that same complacency with Saban. I'm hoping that Day isn't as dependent on one position and rises up and stomps teams that were supposed to. Unfortunately the media still has a love affair with Hairball and scUM

Alabama literally has as many conference and OOC losses as Ohio State since Meyer took over the program ...
They are comparable in just about every way outside of getting the benefit of the doubt when it comes to playoff selection.

"Blowout loss" really wasn't a deciding factor until last year.
Ohio State didn't get a shot to defend their title in 2015 because they didn't win their conference, something that in later years became a non-factor.

Do you think Bama gets left out of the playoff if their only loss on the season is a 2+ TD loss to Vandy?

Yes, yes I do.
If it was a 3pt loss their in(just like OSU would’ve most likely been in, if it was by a TD or less).

Getting dumpstered by Clemson sure didn't help our perception

So you honestly believe SEC Champ Bama gets left out of the play off if they have only a blow out loss against Vandy?

Yeah ... we aren't going to agree on that one. I'd be willing to bet anything on it. Easiest money of my life .... it would be seen as a fluke loss, 100000%

Yeah you’re right. We won’t agree, especially if you’re one of the fans who actually thought that OSU would get in the CFP after losing by 2TDs to Purdue.
If the scenario is an undefeated ND, undefeated OSU, undefeated or 1 loss Clemson, and undefeated Oklahoma with Bama having a 2TD loss to one of the worst teams in their conference, then yeah I don’t see Bama getting in. And I have no problem saying that.
But whatever, this is about recruiting, we can continue this convo at another time(or not). I rather enjoy the recruiting victories that Day is making in his first year and hoping it continues into the season on the field.

For the record, I never said that. Ohio State has only itself to blame. My point was about the amount of talent at Ohio State and how it's never perceived to be on the same level as say Alabama, even though it's the closest program TO Bama there is ... by any recruiting metric.

I can agree with that. Talent wise in regards to recruiting Bama, UgA and OSU are the top tier
