How much of a "statement" can one make against Rutgers? :slappy:

Thats like them saying they made a statement by beating Delaware State 63-6 in 2009 (went on to Finish 5-7)

scUM is 27 1/2 point favorites currently. If they have a ounce of competency they should cover that spread. Failing to do so is just a further statement of incompetency.

Rutgers just lost by 2 TDs to a Boston College team who got embarrassed at home by Kansas, who hadnt won a road game in like a decade. For fuck sakes.

If they decide to can him or he just bails, whoever takes over is in for a hell of a lot of work

The upper class men will all be from Simple Jim's disaster of 17 and 18 classes. A 19 class that had a few nice players, but once again is about half stocked with his signature Low P5-MAC level reaches. And a 2020 class that currently boasts 1 top 100 player, compared to 15 players rated above 300th nationally.

Good luck.......

Who's got it better than them?

Looking at their recruiting. I cant seem to understand how simple comes to pick some of these guys. Does he throw darts at a map and raid the closest local high school or something?

This guy for example

Offers - Army, Air Force, Albany, Brown

Simple Jim - "better secure him before anyone else"

They're not going to turn this around. If Simple Jim was the answer, it already would have happened. The chance that it will somehow happen in year six is nil. Based on their predictions when he was hired, they should be sitting on a national championship and two or three B1G titles right now. Instead, they're hoping to make a statement against Rutgers to turn their season around. These are not worthy adversaries, Dude.

Michigan had Jordan Glasgow, a 6'1" - 225lb LB (former walk-on at S) lining up with his hand in the dirt opposites Wisconsins guards, who are both about 6'4" 325.
Back in 1984 (in Harbaugh’s delusional brain) people got by on grit and determination! Why wouldn’t it work now?

Side note: does everyone remember those satellite camps that were such a big deal and how they resulted in a bunch of tweener fullbacks getting offers only to get bumped later in the class?

Clearly the overarching oldschool 1984 philosophy is working great.

This.

DFBIA gonna DFBIA. The only statement that they can make against Rutgers is a bad one.

Beat Rutgers 110-0 and it’s not a statement.

Dumbasses.

Michigan's 2020 class has commitments from just 4 in-state players, and just 2 more from the region (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania).

It has 13 commitments from the east coast (Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia) and 5 from the southwest and west (Texas, Colorado, Arizona, California, Hawaii).

I know that everyone recruits nationally these days, but how many head coaches virtually ignore their home state and region? Michigan has traditionally recruited well in Ohio, Chicago, and Pittsburgh, but Harbaugh has had little to no success in those places. Weird.
