Struggling against service academies is not unusual. HOWEVER, most of the time it's your defense that gets tripped up trying to stop their unconventional offenses. That was not the biggest problem for scUM today. They hired a guy that they've spent 9 months claiming was going to "modernize" their offense. They were gonna go fast...no huddle. They were gonna get their "athletes" in space. He was going to install an offense that was going to turn Mississippi Jesus loose. They looked like the same bumbling unit from the last two seasons. And that's a week after an underwhelming performance against a cupcake.
One of two things, or perhaps both, is at play here...Gattis isn't all they cooked him up to be, or Harbrau is still in control of the offense. Neither option is particularly promising for their prospects this year. Year 5 and they still don't have a QB, and their 4th offensive coordinator of the harbrau-era doesn't appear to be improving things.
