ttun Shenanigans and Arguments (2015 official thread)

I get being upset by that, but if a kid doesn't have the grades or test scores to get into Michigan outside of football, that's not calling him dumb, that is stating a fact.

It does stack nicely on the interesting scale with Harbaugh's previously stated opinion on Michigan's academic standards for athletes, though.
There are just some things you don't say out loud, even if they are true.

**EDIT** Just saw it was posted on the last page. The Harbrauera is off to a fairly typical m*ch*g*n start.

Per MLive's Nick Baumgardner regarding 4* DE Daishon Neal:

Neal's father says Michigan's coaching staff made one mistake, said his son probably wouldn't be able to get into school w/out football.

At that point, Neal's father told U-M's coaching staff to leave the house -- he was leaning toward U-M, then threw them out of the house.
Neal: "They basically tried to call me stupid in my own house." ... Apparently Michigan offended the Neal family quite a bit there.
Greg Mattison was in Daishon Neal's home last night.

I don't think that's the way recruiting is supposed to work...

It's beyond rude. It's country club mentality.

Sometimes the truth hurts I guess. I don't think it's rude to point out something that is true... it's beyond stupid from a recruiting perspective, though.

What if a student was allowed into tsun because he/she was an ADA? If someone goes up to that kid and tells them they couldn't get into tsun without having autism, etc., I'd punch them right in the face. It doesn't matter if it's true, it's just plain rude.

So because we went 5-7 we should have told the kid he was smart?
No, you just shut your full mouth. The kid's a football player. Whether or not he can get into tsun, or any other school, without football is totally irrelevant. It's rude. True? Certainly. Polite to say to somebody you're trying to woo to your program in front of his family/friends? Absolutely not. Like it or not, I'm sure simple manners can play a big part in attracting kids to your program.
