If Texas fans would stop thinking of themselves as a "traditional powerhouse" they would have less frustration.

Michigan Monday: Meet the New Loss, Same as the Old Loss

Michigan%20Monday%20Minnesota.jpg

New eras are supposed to be new, but so much of Michigan's 24-17 loss at Utah looked like the same team that got Brady Hoke fired at the end of last season.

The difference between last year and this year, however, is that there are actually positives, and — unlike a year ago — quitting was never on the table for the Wolverines Thursday night.

When Brady Hoke looked frustrated on the sideline it was because he had absolutely no answers. When Jim Harbaugh looked frustrated in this game, it was because he knew the answers, but they never presented themselves in the multiple choice options he was given.

"What is the surest way to win this game?"

Obviously, some combination of running the ball, stopping the run and winning the turnover battle would be what he is looking for, but the problem is that his choices look like this:

a) Put everything on Jake Rudock's "cannon" arm.
b) Have slow running backs with the vision of glaucomic tortoises.
c) An offensive line with a memory disorder where every day when they wake up is the first day they ever remember being offensive linemen.
d) All of the above.

And Michigan still had to lose the game in order for Utah to win it.

Not to mention that last minute touchdown saw Utah in prevent mode relying on maybe their biggest weakness, their secondary. They got beaten straight up.
As i said that last minute td was the best thibg to happen. It lets the sunshine pumpers and piss&blue glasses wearers think everything will be ok and jim-bo just needs a bit more time with rudock and the offense. I'm sure there will be improvement but the ceiling is a lot lower than that final td drive has them thinking. Which is fine with me cause i mainline lolverine tears.

Jim Harbaugh is bringing helmet stickers back to Michigan

The University of Michigan hasn't given out helmet stickers since Lloyd Carr took over in 1995, but stickers are back this season. Wide receiver Amara Darboh confirmed to the media that helmet stickers were back -- Darboh received a team-high nine for his performance Saturday against Utah.

First-year coach Jim Harbaugh, who already brought back all-white road uniforms, has not been shy about wanting to change the culture at Michigan and has referenced Bo Schembechler's influence on many occasions.

The players seem pretty excited about the return of helmet stickers. Star tight end Jake Butt received eight for his performance in the Wolverines' 24-17 loss to the Utes.

"I think it's awesome," Butt said Monday, according to the Detroit News. "I think it's just another way to create an environment of competition. You don't want to be the guy with an empty helmet at the end of the year. Everybody has a chance to win some stickers."
