ttun Shenanigans and Arguments (2015 official thread)

I'm pretty sure the in home visits and the actual meetings with the kids and parents will go a lot further in recruiting than one interview.

That being said, it was a train wreck. Seemed to go downhill after JH thought he was calling the B1G a "bye" conference, and not realizing he was asking if people should "buy" into the B1G. After that, it was check out city.
Honestly, it seemed to start poorly, then the middle bit was the worst, then the bit after that was the worst as well.....after that, it went into a bit of a decline.

Colin started firing off questions without even a hello or intro. Makes me wonder if JH even heard the first question asking about if there's a time of day when he's not intense. Then the first thing JH hears after saying hello is Colin asking him when he's a cupcake. I don't think he'll be back on The Herd anytime soon.

Sure that was awkward, but then he circled back to coach questions 101:

What did you change when you arrived? No actual answer, just hey, I hired, recruited and talked to some guys.

Describe where and what it was like when you decided to take the job? I don't know.

What are realistic expectations? To be better than yesterday.

Walk me through getting ready for Utah? Well we've been getting ready for awhile, and we'll keep getting ready.

 Not one of those questions was answered, other than maybe the expectations one (albeit with a canned answer)

Meanwhile he's doing his awkward silence/pausing thing, and Colin doesn't know what to do to get answers, so he starts asking him something even easier, about the B1G trending up, except he does so with a sloppy choice of words that confuses Jim. I'm still curious which "bye/buy/bi" Jim thought he meant.

I'm pretty sure he thought Colin meant bye... that's what I thought the first time too. Except I was smart enough to realize he was trying to say something positive, and clearly meant something else with whatever word I thought it was.

Yes I thought that at first too, and eventually figured it out about 2 seconds before JH. I was confused because it sounded like he was praising the B1G and then suggested playing it it was like having a bye. Then eventually figured out that BUY is Colin-speak.

It wasn't the best interview in the world, but there have been plenty worse and Colin realized it and attempted to correct with simple questions that could have been easy and enjoyable to answer, but with JH it's possible that there just isn't anything easy and not a lot of joy.

So to answer Colin's first question .... never.

I see a lot of Michigan fans trying to hang their hats on this one in an attempt to justify Harbaugh's complete inability to carry on a conversation like a normal human being. So Harbaugh was justified in acting like a complete social misfit because Colin didn't exchange customary pleasantries? GMAFB. The year is 2015, not 1824.

What did you change when you arrived? Nothing, did you watch our spring game?

Describe where and what it was like when you decided to take the job? San Francisco said something about not coaching there anymore.

What are realistic expectations? To be better than yesterday, because honestly have you seen yesterday?

Walk me through getting ready for Utah? ....

Should have been truthful answers...

The thing about that is, the answer is exactly the same whether you thought he said bye or buy.

You talk about how strong and competitive you think the conference is whether the question was intended to insult or compliment.

If he thought 'bi' than I don't know what to tell you.

Maybe Cowherd should have called him Chris Everett. I heard guys hate that in interviews. At least maybe he would've gotten a response from him.
I think that. ah, I mean, you....<pause>...well, uh, ah, I mean, I'm not sure how...wait, do you mean Chris Evert? I thought you, ah, uh, you know...<pause>...meant Chris Everett, uh, ah, well, ummm...the nose guard at, ah, Longwood, we scouted, ah, um...him in San Francisco out of, uh, ah...Longwood. You , uh, know. Ah, um...<pause>...so, ah, uh, I don't know, uh, ah, Hawkfan, how, uh, ahh...that has any, ah, uh... #integriy

Have you ever listened to a Harbaugh interview? He's like Greg Popovich. You're lucky to get any real answers out of him. Somehow, JH has made people feel sorry for Colin Cowherd, that's truly a miracle.

If you're going to quote me, quote my entire post. I said it was "train wreck."

Harbaugh was justified because Colin didn't exchange customary pleasantries

See, I can manipulate the quote function too.
