ttun Shenanigans and Arguments (2015 official thread)

Listening to a few minutes of the Paul Finebaum show makes it very difficult to argue that the dumbest fanbase doesn't reside in the deep south somewhere. However, when you look at the scUM fanbase's history for "calling their shots" and arrogant refusal to not see everything/everyone involved with their dinosaur program as the next big thing/world's greatest coach, I have to hand it to them. It's just astounding how wrong they've been about everything, even when others could see what was coming from miles away.

agreed

I was talking to a coworker just the other day and this very concept came up regarding Hairball. He seems to think that Hairball's offense will make Tresselball look innovative. I mean, it's not as if Hairball is regarded as some kind of offensive genius.

He definitely prefers an old school offense that relies on beating you with a tough OL and north-south running game. That's great if you're bammer and reel in elite recruits everywhere, maybe not so much if you have a bunch of thus far overhyped recruits manning key positions.

It works fairly well against 90% of the teams and is great at exposing weaknesses in other teams.

Against equally (or more) talented, equally well coached teams? It can lead to some serious headaches.

No one knows that more than Ohio State fans.

This all goes back to exactly what we've been saying all along- Harbaugh will make them a better football team, but anything beyond latter year Carr success is still out of reach.

Under Harbaugh, they will beat the teams they are supposed to beat a huge majority of the time while struggling against their equals and superiors.

Unfortunately for them, unlike when Tressel was running the B1G, there are equals and betters for Harbaugh to contend with in the conference and not just waiting in bowl games; namely Meyer and Dantonio.

This all assumes he's there long term and gets his system rolling. I think it's more likely he'll be gone before he even gets rolling with his first real QB.

Have you ever listened to a Harbaugh interview? He's like Greg Popovich. You're lucky to get any real answers out of him. Somehow, JH has made people feel sorry for Colin Cowherd, that's truly a miracle.

I have heard 2 or 3 Harbaugh interviews, and yes, Harbaugh is always kind of mumbling non answers. Where this one got out of control is when Harbaugh started criticizing Cowherd, causing Cowherd to seize the opportunity to go on defense, and then offense.
