It still pisses me off on much this is portrayed as such a great upset (I remember the announcer at the end of the game saying, "This has to be the greatest upset in history"). Michigan was actually a very good team heading into The Game...they were 7-2 and on a four-game win streak, with wins by the scores of 35-9, 35-7, 57-0, and 51-6 (an average score of 45-6), and three of those blowouts coming on the road. They also had two OOC blowout wins of 42-14 and 45-7. Their only "close" win was 31-20 against Purdue. Their seven wins were by an average score of 42-9. And Michigan was also 8-2 the previous year.
