ttun Shenanigans and Arguments (2015 official thread)

The biggest reason 1969 is not likely to happen again is that 1969 happened.

It is Urban who will be rolling out the remainders of that upset.

Not that I'm all that confident in this notion, but check this out:

1968 - Ohio State wins National Championship.
1969 - Michigan beats Ohio State at Michigan. HUGE upset.

2002 - Ohio State wins National Championship.
2003 - Michigan beats Ohio State at Michigan.

2014 - Ohio State wins National Championship.
2015 - ???????????????????????? at Michigan. It WOULD be a huge upset if Michigan wins. I'm not worried about it, but I hope Meyer puts banners that say 24-12 all over. Hoke's Michigan teams tended to play better than expected against Ohio State. Even RRod's team managed an 11-point loss at home, sandwiched between a couple of >30-point losses in Columbus. The 1990's are still too fresh in my memory. Don't get overconfident about Michigan.

Junior pulled a Dan Yaccobacci on me (he is from PA) and then threw in the "let's compare bank accounts" for good measure.

All the Dude wanted out of the Twitter was to get some news about Ohio State, U of Chicago and Formula 1, and he finds himself in psycho twitter wars with The Harbaugh cultists. And his rug back; the Dude also wanted his rug back.
You saying Bonaduce, Jr. is a rug pisser, dude?

It still pisses me off on much this is portrayed as such a great upset (I remember the announcer at the end of the game saying, "This has to be the greatest upset in history"). Michigan was actually a very good team heading into The Game...they were 7-2 and on a four-game win streak, with wins by the scores of 35-9, 35-7, 57-0, and 51-6 (an average score of 45-6), and three of those blowouts coming on the road. They also had two OOC blowout wins of 42-14 and 45-7. Their only "close" win was 31-20 against Purdue. Their seven wins were by an average score of 42-9. And Michigan was also 8-2 the previous year.

Not Harbaugh Jr. The idiot in the tweet above: Richard Aurenbach The Third. He was really hilarious. When I called him out on being a WalMart Wolverine, he threatened to come to Ohio and teach me a lesson. Told him that I live in Chicago. Then he started spewing a bunch of shit about having founded a company that he sold and then bought his Dad's company (checked company website, and Daddy's still the CEO while Jr. is VP of marketing), which was easily disproven just be looking at his LinkedIn profile. Then he said that he was going to be in Chicago for a "CEO Roundtable" and tried to get me to meet him. Acted like he knows all the people at all the top Venture Capital firms in the country. Finally he said that he would have gone to Michigan but went to West Chester to play basketball. No google searches of his name and West Chester basketball turn up anything. Finally started ranting about how much wealth he creates and daring me to compare bank accounts and Ivy Leaguers can't hire him, but he can hire them. Dude was a real gem. Classic WalMart Wolverine who started throwing around academic smack and when called on the fact that he went to a crappy college turned internet tough guy.

Prove your opulence:

Create a BP parody account and sign up for monthy donations in his name. Then commend him for crossing party lines to support a good cause.

This Michigan Man Strassini. Not sure why you are getting into Twitter wars with the guy when you could've bitched up and chosen positivity.

Interesting. I'd always heard it was a huge upset. Michigan was with their first-year head coach. They couldn't even sell out their own stadium (per the BTN show "Tiebreaker"). I never thought it was the greatest upset in history. I'd also be disappointed in the Rivalry if it was the biggest upset in the history of the Rivalry. I'd guess that 1995, maybe 1996, and probably 2004 would be bigger upsets.

Anyway, my point is that the last 2 championships by Ohio State were followed by losses at Michigan. With The Game at Michigan this year, let's hope the streak ends.

Michigan had good teams in 1969 and 2003 along with good teams the years before. This is not the case this season, as Michigan is coming off a 5-7 season, and obviously this season has yet to be played (and not many here feel they'll be any where near a 2-loss team coming into The Game as they were in the upset years).

By the way, my rant about how big the 1969 upset was wasn't directed at you specifically...

Jesus Christ! Who talks about our losses to the cockweasels in the shenanigans thread?

Every beer I drink and every shot I drink is specifically formulated to kill those specific brain cells that hold those memories.

Then, all that work is wasted when people remind me of those terrible times all over again. Show some goddamned compassion here people!

EDIT: Fuck M*ch*g*n, btw...

Obligatory ...

"Well ya see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.

"In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first.

In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."
